I just bought a 91 L sedan. It has the non bose stereo in it. I called Acura of Agusta today and got the code for it. Im not sure how to punch it in to the radio. I tried all sorts of ways but nothing worked. Can Anyone help??

Use the radio preset buttons 1 thru 6 to enter each of your 5-digit radio anti-theft code numbers. If you enter incorrectly more than 3 times you will have to wait a couple hours(?) before attempting again - or just disconnect the battery for a minute or so, then reconnect and try it again.
If it's not working, then you've got the wrong code. You must provide the radio's serial number located on the back of the unit to obtain the ID code from Acura, which means it has to be pulled out to see the serial number - which is why most shops charge to get the number off the back.
Im still having problems with my head unit. I got the code for it as posted above. When I turn on the radio, it does nothing. I took the head unit out and unplugged it. When I plugged it back in I heard the tape deck make a noise so I know its getting juice. I think the head unit is dead I just want other opinions.:wtf:
Could the unit be locked out then? Right now it doesnt say anything on the screen. I also havent had the car on for an hour at a time yet. So I should power the radio on for an hour or so? After that, it should beep(like you stated above) will the screen come on saying code again? I will give that a try. I dont even have the head unit in the car right now. I will reinstall and give it a try. Thanx for the feedback. I hope it works.
dont forget to really press it b/c if u miss a digit and restart it wont be the correct code.
IE...
if the code 1-2-3-4-5 and lets say u miss #3 and the try didnt work and u try again...it would be reconized as 1-2-4-5-1.
so make sure u really press on the digits.
i bet this is your issue. if not i have a bose from my 92ls. and the factory amp.. was keepin them around for.. who knows why but if you need them i can sell them.
Ok. I tried the leave the radio powered on for an hour plan. Radio still did nothing. Should I give up and put another HU in it? Ive tried all the ideas from above and nothing happened. Any more ideas before I call it curtains for the HU?
Thanx for all the info to everybody that replied. I give up... I have a Sony Hu thats only a couple years old. I guess Ill put that in. I just kind of wanted the factory HU to have the steering wheel controls.. My Sony has a remote so I guess that is the same thing. Thanx Again.
Maybe you have the same problem as mine does. My display is out but the radio still worked,, until I disconnected the battery. I found the "RC65221" written in the owner's manual, but I can't get the radio to come back on. I think I am not going through the right sequence to get it back on. Like me with a black display, you can't follow the lighted display. Somewhere I read a post that said you have to push AM/FM after inputting the numbers.
Does anybody have the "exact sequence" to get the radio back on?
So far posts say 1) key on acc. 2) radio on, my alarm light is blinking. 3) punch in codes. Then what? Does the display tell you to do something or does the radio just come on?
