I got evicted from an apartment I had back in the day when I decided to drop money on the Legend instead of pay rent. I ended up living in it for a few weeks. Know what? Given the chance to do it again, I totally would. Nothing like that soft supple leather smell and that "Legend" scent (I can't explain the smell) to curl up to at night.

To me, a true enthusiast appreciates the car for what it is bone stock. No turbo or 18" rims or dropped suspension, just stock. I'd give damn near anything to do what Tyson has done. My .02

you know what today i was seriously thinking about selling my legend and buying a 2000 max ,but i logged on and seeen this post, after reading it made me realize why i waited soo long for a 95 ls black on black coupe , you guys are totally right,ok now you can bash me .

put it this way... I've been here since 02. Nothing has stopped me from coming back. Still have the G1 and it doesn't burn oil at 233k although it leaks some... I think I must be doing something right staying on here.

P.S. I want to sell the G1... but only to get a G2. ;)

Ken u trader lol. j/p. i still drive my G1, especially when it still throwing smoke. Shit i luv my Legend. if the engine dies, i get another one to replace it. there is no way in hell im getting rid of it. im too attached to it. even my gf says that too lol.

I consider myself a true legend enthusiasts for many reason, I agree that the acura legend is a b*Tch car but for me the one more reason to love it. I just wanna list all the problem i had with my car and im sure all of you went to one or two of these problem but i think im the only one who went to all these problem and what makes the problem worst is i fix everything except for the type II installation, you might find this boring but im sure theres some who's some what interested, Heres what i go through owning one, I get pull over once a month for know reason, i spend most weekend at the wreckyard pullin parts, change thermostat at -30 degrees outside 2 in the morning, head gasket quit on me and drove through winter without heat thanks for this site i made a good decision to swap type II, i can go on and on but i'll stop here and i think for all the sacrifice i did i consider myself a true legend enthusiasts

Well said! Owning a different brand along with your ledg, does not make you any less of a Legend Enthusiast!!
Now, you're talking! I'd like to think I've got the best of BOTH worlds, the G2 Legend owner of 14 yrs. who has enjoyed the hell out of his car, and an owner of an alternate vehicle with a totally different "flava". Truth is, when you have (or have access to) another different car, I think it makes you appreciate the uniqueness of the Legend even moreso.... at least, that's the case with me. And I see many of you out there with multi makes.

I enjoy BOTH my cars for entirely different reasons. Whether you consider yourself a "die hard" Legend lover or not, it's all relative to your personal experience and what;s important to you....everyone's cool here in my book, 'cos I'm gonna respect you either way-die hard or side liner.....

this car has been in my family over 10 years.... ive grown up in the backseat and have now moved to the driver seat.... i paid over a grand on my head gasket job when i have a perfectly running prelude waiting outside for me all while going to school full time. i dropped out of the University of Hawaii as a pre-pharm student because of the time ive spent under the hood of the legend has showed me that thats what i want to be doing as a career. now im in a trade school studying for my ASE tests and fixing peoples cars for free. call me legend crazy i dunno, but everyone at my school trips out from how i get when i see a legend passing by on the road. i dont appreciate the specs, the cool features, not even the looks. i appreciate the car. i know what it means to me.

but some of you guys are crazy... collecting advertisements and comercials of the legend is pretty nuts. and keeping pictures of other peoples legends saved to your hard drive is pretty nuts too.

Am I a Legend enthusiast? Maybe not, but I am MY LEGEND ENTHUSIAST

hey some people think thats nuts.... thats like being collecting chicago bull commercials because you love michael jordan. i know many die hard honda, nissan and toyota guys who dont have the dealer hand out booklets about their cars.... legend enthusiasts may be the most crazy enthusiasts ever.

First time someone called me that and I didn't feel 'dissed', LOL!

I thank you Mr. Blingting sir, for the kind words of a fellow brother in arms. 'Cos that's what we really all are here. A fraternity of sorts. (And this ain't "Koom By Yah", it's just the way I see it). I don't see me as 'old' and the rest of you as 'young', I see us all in the same friggin' boat-a mutual interest in enjoying our beloved cars and keeping them together by mutual sharing of experiences, both good and bad so we can learn from each other. I have meant to say for some time, even though I'd rather read and absorb than post a lot ( I DO skip over the occassional dramas), I have been an active member here since 2002. And you guys have saved my bacon with this car more times than you could all imagine. I have learned and applied a lot, and THAT has been instrumental as to why I hang on to my car.

For that I am eternally grateful to this forum and it's esteemed members.

I must be 2 inches outside of Bellevue. The collection of pics i have is crazy .

Since i was 9 i've been crazy about the car...in 7th grade i decided that i was going to get one. in 8th grade i built an entire book, graphically outlining the path i was going to take building my car. (complete with openable doors and hood, full interior pics everything.

8 years later i still have the booklet, and over the years, it's been continuously updated, and even has the "authentic aging" of the paper.

Nick calls it "The Parchment Scroll"

Been crazy about legends since i can remember. i can't see itchanging anytime.

Hell even people in Highschool knew me ac' for a while. Just knew by that because it was all that i talked about.

I'm Legend Crazy.

I do not consider myself an 'enthusiast' by Acura-legend.com's standard, but I do love my legend (previous and current). I do not have the dedication of spending insane amount of money on my car, because in the end, I have more important things to take care of. I really don't care if I'm listed as a legend enthusiast because I'm not. I'm a car enthusiast at heart that appreciates each car for what they're worth. You will not find any a blind, brand loyal, person behind this computer screen. :)

i love my legend.
almost got in a fight with this guy who backed his RV into it. (he paid) =]
i dont intend on doing much to it, just maintain it until i die.
haha
i dont want to see that junked until the tach rolls back.
lol
but..there is another car i equally love =/
87 Toyota Cressida.
factory5 spd+turbo
T.E.M.S.

there was this guy selling his with only 35000 miles =/
i really wanted it, but its out of the cards =[

Man. I'm loving this. It's so good to see the unity and solidarity. I feel the oneness! :D Remains me of the A-L forum of old! If this isn't bonding, I don't know what is!

Very shorten version of my story.

One of the many reasons why I love (not just my legend) but all legends is that it was one of those goals you set set for your life and it is a damn good feeling when it is achieved. I remember like yesterday, a freshman in high school ('91) in gym class, being outside and the 1st time I saw a legend it was a G2 sedan. I thought to myself, "Man that is a sexy, classy ride!" by my sophomore year I had made up my mind that I would one day own one of these cars. As a senior I knew if was for certain that it was my life's goal to own a legend especially that year because there was just something different about that '94 model even though it was the same car. Later to find out that indeed the bumper was wider looking, 1st time I had seen a legend with fog lights, and the rear end was also different.

It wasn't till 2000 that I had finally achieved my goal and got my legend. It is such a good feeling when you cross a milestone in your personnal life. Buying a legend was right up there with a college degree as a big, exciting milestone in my life.

But I have to say that I have a whole new level of appreciation for legends, and respect for the engineering of this vehicle much more now than before. I had the priviledge to drive to Miami to buy a GS 6 speed with a BHG. I didn't even look at 1 pic. I just saw the craigslist ad, and the only words that I read on the entire ad was GS, 6 SPEED, BHG. I immediately called the guy and asked only 1 question, "Are you sure it is a 6 speed?" As soon as he said yes. I said I will buy it right now, no more questions. I resulted in parting out the car and the whole experience has been a great positive for me. I felt like a criminal taking a top of the line GS and parting it out, but at the same time I felt I was taking this underappricated car and putting it out of its misery and self teaching myself mechanic work.

I'm very please that I have sold many good parts to good people on this board, and I'm even more pleased that I know just about every part, bolt and washer from these extremely well built cars.

Here's my story: It was 1995 and my mom & step-dad took me along to go look for a car. We entered a dealership and as they were looking around I spotted a beautiful blue/gray '92 Legend sedan from accross the lot. I told them to go check it out. While they said it was somewhat out of their price reange, I ranted and raved on about it so much, pointing out all its beautiful details and options, that they ended up buying it. The salesman mustve loved me cuz He didnt even have to throw a sales pitch on it.

It turns out the Legend was the only one in Florida with that light blue/gray color. The interior was even an almost identical color. I have never seen another one in that color since anywhere, not even in the forum. My mother and step dad divorced years later, and he ended up crashing it after that. So that was the end of a really unique legend.

Back to my point, I loved the Legend ever since, so after havin my first car ('89 Integra RS) for 5 years, I decided to upgrade. Originally I was considering a 91-93 Integra but decided to just treat myself and go for the Legend coupe. It took me about a month and a half of constant daily searching, visiting several used car dealership, searching everywhere online and in the papers, before finally coming accross this '95 coupe LS on theflyer.com. The moment I pulled up to the guys house and saw it parked I said to myself " Thats my Legend!" and she went home with. 12 years later, Im a happy Legend owner and wont give her up for anything.

I just love the luxury/sport design and all the options they come with. It has classic lines that will always be admired by true car gurus, such as the real enthusiasts we have here.

So far, since I bought my Legend, I replaced the following

Engine
clutch
radiator
hoses
front and rear pads and rotors
both front axles
wheels and tires (tires x8)
front and rear suspension
headlights
left front window motor
left front inner door handle
entire stereo system
paint
all the fluids x2

The only things that are original since I bought the car is most of the interior, the transmission and the differential.

(#1) 1991 LS Sedan was our first Legend...car was stunning in this kind of blue/ purple kind of color with dark leather interior. Sold it when my wife got a company car...BIG Mistake. Loved that car.

(#2)1993 L sedan with spoiler. Not in great shape but ran well enough. Was never in nice enough shape to consider keeping.

(#3) 1995 LS Coupe Auto..dark green/tan. Wifes car and she loved it. Gave up her 87 Supra for it which is like saying she gave up breathing air because she REALLY REALLY liked her Supra. Volunteered to take over the GS
(#4) when we started building a house. Talk about a trooper.

(#4) 1995 GS Sedan Auto. This car was sweet. Traded it in on a new TL-S for the wife after we had built the house. She never really cared for the GS. Always pined for another coupe. Which leads us to.....

(#5) 1995 LS Coupe six speed. Had been a little neglected cosmetically but we took care of that. She's glad it did not sell...now I gotta get her to DRIVE the car as it's our weekend cruiser.

So yeah...I would consider us to be Legend faithful.
