I'm noticing lots of Southern Californians in the forum. Who else lives around here?

Hey Vince? Did you say you were a student? I just got out of UC Irvine? Where do you go to school? You seem to not like Tustin Acura too much. I've had about $600 worth of work done there. I can't say I have too much to complain except the unhelpful and unfriendly Asian parts counter guy. The only other time I questioned their service is when the mechanic used Castrol brake fluid and not Honda brake fluid. I'm sure the car won't notice the difference but if they have brochures touting the benefits of OEM fluids, but on the other hand use aftermarket, I would have to question their integrity.

Anyway, Pasadena Acura is my home now, at least for dealer services. If anybody else would share their dealership experiences in the So Cal region, it would be helpful. Thanks.

I am a student, a senior at Woodbridge High School. I'm going to UCI next year (Henry Samueli School of Engineering).

I do not like Tustin Acura at all. Everytime I go in there for parts, I always take a look at what's on the showroom floor. They are never really very friendly to me. They sold me that Castrol fluid too. When I needed to have my CV joints replaced, I complained about the high cost of OEM rebuilts (like $300 per side). The service advisor told me that I could just turn up the stereo volume over the noise from the joints. Oh yeah, that should distract me when my front axles fall off. And I was over there the other day (they had a part no one else had in stock), and I noticed they have a separate Customer Service area for Korean people. WTF?

If you need a good mechanic in the area, I would suggest:

Mesman Motors
Honda and Acura Specialists
2002 West First Street
Santa Ana, CA 92703

714-543-7266
800-900-7266

I have never had a problem with Mesman. They are a small shop and can cater to your special requests (ie aftermarket parts). I bought parts elsewhere and they installed it without any problems. They use OEM parts unless you specify otherwise. Highly recommend them.

BTW: would you like this moved to the off-topic forum? Or did you just want a count of G1 owners in So Cal?

hey, I'm way south (San Diego). Any further and I'm in TJ. Don't see to many G1's that are taken care of down here.

But I live in the S.F. Bay area, does that count. My folks live in SD, so I make it back there once in a while....SoCal will always be home!
