How to Race????????

hi guys being the fact tat i'm only 16 i have never drag raced a person especially with an auto... i'm not really fond of autos so this is wat i heard... before u start I should put it in D1 than up to D4...
Or another way is to D3 then D4... well let me hear your stories of how u start off then... thx u

actually, some legends have S3 instead of D3. S=sport

s3 and s4 are for g1s

I still want some authorative dude to tell me once and for all whether torque braking is dangerous. It feels bad.
I must admit it feels faster, although I'm not sure that there is a rev limiter on the g1's, mine will rev higher than 2000 with the brake on, although you really have to step on the brake to stop the car from rolling forward.

I raced a rice convoy the other night coming back from the flicks.
first car was a mitsubishi lancer (do you get these cars in the states) - lowered, chrome mags, carry handle (rear wing) - smoked him, the other two were riced integras. Smoked em all. Looks like they had spent all their cash on cosmetics. he he.
Anyway, the torque braking technique felt a lot quicker off the line - usually I am a bit slower than the opposition until we get up over 30 ks/hr.

It's real easy to spin your tires, I wouldn;t recommend doing it cause your killing you engine but just some FYI. Just down **** the auto into D1 and role to a slow stop. Then just punch the gas while holding the brake hard.

If you wanna race do the same ****, come to a rolling stop while you're in D1 then floor that ****, but watch the RPM and remember you gotta manually upshft now.

about the thing with the S3 instead of D3 or D4 thats with the G1 legends, mine has this

when your in S ( sport shift) it revs higher before switching which you all know, so then you push the little button on the side of the shifter and it goes to S4.

I ussually put it in S3 than tourque brake a little, not like you guys, i mean like half a second before we start ill push on the gas and brake then let go of the brake as we start. as soon as 3rd gear is around 5500, where the G1s make there peak horsepower i push the S4 then keep on hauling.

hey i have a post for spoonlegend. if you really bought spoons you just wasted about 1000$. i got rota slipstreams 15" are exactly spoon rims they weigh less than like 11 pounds each and they costed me 900$ w/ falkens. Spoons go for what like 2k$?

So im assuming if i am at a complete stop and want to have a good launch,putting it in D3 and flooring it is the best way?
or would it be better from D1-D3?
So driving on the highway with D3 isnt good? So put it in D4 on the highway then? I just bought my Legend and i hate automatic.
I dont think I will get use to it for a long time.
One other question,Are the D1 D2 D3 D4 going to give me more power in regular driving than just driving in regular D?

There is no regular 3.
The manual says to use D3 for city driving. D4 for highway driving. You'll use more fuel in D3, but have more power...

It's all in the manual.
