Reminds me of something called guitar swirling
thats cool, i just wonder how strong it is, id like to hydro dip my rims but i wonder it would last
after get them done do a 2 part clear coat and it will last for years. As long as you clean and protect them on a regular basis.

If you have quality wheels they should be clear coated before tiress are even mounted.

i have TL wheels on my legend, they have a 3m overlay on them but while the guy was mounting the tires on the rims he scratched the edges of the overlay a little bit, and im very anal about things like that so im thinking of doing the hydrodip. have you done it before BIGBOY? they have DIY kits and it doesnt seem to hard to do...
whats the prep work like before you can actaully dip it?
I never dipped a wheel before but have had wheels re-chromed. That's something I'd leave to the pro's if you wheels are pitted or have damage.

If they are in good condition and you just want a new look give it a try.

I only use tire shops that use the tire machine made for rims.

They are designed not to scratch like the older machines.
yeah, i might give it a try myself, gotta do some more research on it and the whole process, prep, after care stuff like that, dont be supprised if you see a diy on the forums of this stuff...lol
Hmm, wonder how well that would work on my 20-spokers? LOL Looks great, how much does it cost?

im looking into it, they have the diy kits for 99 bucks, and ive seen the prints on ebay for cheap. i was thinking of using a plastic 55 gallon drum and cutting it in half. i was reading on it you can use it on almost anything. alot of people do interior trim peices too.
i found a place that does it not to far from me in NY and they charge 70 bucks a wheel for rims that are 19"+ and 60 for 15-18" wheels.
picked up a small starter kit gunna give it a shot tomm at work and see how it comes out.
keep us posted, I want to mix it up with my car.
