Those broken bolts hold the camshaft bearing cap and the camshaft oil passage "pipes" to the cylinder head:

With the oil pipes loose, the camshaft might not be getting full oil pressure and the camshaft journal on that end might be getting worn prematurely. This would eventually wipe out the journal in the head.

You also say that there might be a head gasket problem.

I think it comes down to economics as to your next move; an engine under warranty ($500) vs. tracking down a potential head gasket leak and repair. You might need a new head depending upon whether or not a macjine shop can remove the broken pieces of bolt and save the head.
