Could someone clear up this for me? Why are JDM one piece lights better then USDM 2 piece ones? Far as I can tell they look somewhat alike? Is there a better beam pattern or projected?? What's better about them? Thanks.. still a newb..

 

JDMs have a dual high-low beam H4 bulb driving lights. Therefore they also have medially yellow foglamps that USDMs don't have. They still have turn signals, without amber. Most compelling difference is the much cleaner 1-piece look. Lots of people custom their bulbs to HID or paint the bezels, etc., it's up to you to define your own look.

Just bc the design of one part (no separate corner lamp) and a much better beam pattern. We have many members who have installed those nics JDM's. But you're right: IMO USDM's are the best ever ! -Mike

Your EDM lamps are much more rare in the US than JDM lamps. That sounds like a good trade to me!

If I am not mistaken those are the OEM 1994-1995 fog lights. From what I hear there are no more new ones to be found. Try a salvage yard.

Very little I think given the JDMs are RHD. But I dont think there is a requirement in Japan for the beam to cut in one particular direction so you might just get light being flooded out. Also, some MOT places can be a pain in the butt as I had with JDM Accord a few years back.

Yes. I would. See if you can get hold of a spare set of Uk lights from a scrappy though. There are a few around on the web like partsgateway.co.uk. I got a set of standard rims from them. I'm just thinking about when it comes to flogging the car (God Forbid!!)

It's a type I, I don't think we have type II over here. My speedo goes up to 160 and I know mine's a type one.
I would love to swap my EDM's for someone's JDMs!! Though, mine have a stone chip in one of them. Anyone wanna swap?

 

You know for years now we have tried many times to set up a swap program for EDM lights. No one ever thought of trying JDMs. This will probably be a good thing for all.

I am not sure. I would imagine Mike Diaz is who you want to talk too. I am pretty sure he has installed JDMs, and I know he has installed EDMs. Also I think someone needs to be a gueni pig and try it out. I am a little concerned with that auto leveling system you guys have.

I am almost positive you have a Type I because even the JDM Type II has the same badge as the USDM Type II. I know there is a way to tell through the VIN. Post that up or manybe someone can post the codes. I saw it a couple of days ago, but I don't remember where.
