I am trying to decide ....

Trying to decide if I should sell my Legend and keep my stepdads 1996 Cadilac STS. The STS has 65,000 miles and my Legend has 87,000 miles and the A/C in the Cadi actually works. I have driven the Cadi for 14 hours (it has a timer !) and I just cant get over how smooth and comfy and quiet it is.

Keep the Legend, easy choice..... I can't even begin to imagine selling a Legend for a GM product, except for a 'vette.
Legend!!! the cadi only has about 30k left on her...before she dies(GM  )
If that thing has a Northstar, drop it and run like like you would from the police and never look back.

If you think the Legend is a BHG waiting to happen then you havent had a northstar powered cadi yet. A Legend BHG can be repaired by most any skilled mechanic or you can go with a JDM swap $700 Type I or $1000 Type II. The BHG Cadi w/ NS would require a dealer service center or a mechanic w/ training in a "true" wet sleeved engine. A used engine for those cost around $3500. I have a buddy that works as a tech for a cadi dealer here and they won't even replace a head gasket there. They just sell a new engine...

Another thing with the cadi thats not really a problem I guess is W T F were they thinking when they put the starter under the intake manifold. Same with Lexus...
Nothing against American cars, if I have to own any domestic at all it will be a vette. Screw the sts.
guys, all old cars, out of warranty, will cost $$$ eventually, The only way to avoid repair bills is to your car as soon as the warranty expires ..... and thats even MORE expensive !

Not true. My guess is you dont know much about the STS. This car is like new, it runs so smooth ya can hardly feel it. this car is just broken in, not finished !

this car is sweet as hell. And I just got my upgraded wiring harness for my Legend yesterday.
i agree my friend has a sts a 97 with 148k on it. another has a lincoln LS with 189k its a 2001 too and he burned a tranny. but he also has 20 inch chrome rims and spinners which didnt help. an sts is a fine car. but i do love my legend...and my prelude and my maxima. but i may sell the max the insurance is killin me. any1 want a 00 maxima SE lol...56k like new
?????????

Sounds like your leaning toward the STS anyway. What did you think all of us Legend owners would say, dump the Legend and keep the GM Cadi STS?
There is a big difference in the 2 vehicles. Lots of room and a smoother ride with the STS. Style, looks and fun with the Legend.

Let's see Acura vs GM.........

What kind of gas mileage does the STS get?

:2cool:
I'm going to agree very much with Rumnarv, I had a 94 Eldorado coupe V6 northstar....and trust me...its a pain in the azz...I had to change the started...and that was a ...so yeah...I would keep the Legend man.
the people we bought my moms legend from bought and sts to replace it, they were sorry they did that. they had nothing but problems the entire time they had it. they eventually sold it because they were having so many problems

13.8 mpg .... 23 mpg highway

I didnt expect you to all agree its a "better" car, but to say its junk is pretty narrow minded. Its a sweet car.

One day all of you will be in something other than a Legend.

ok, not 100 percent sure on this but I dont think Cadi had a Northstar engine in 1994, and also never had a V6 Northstar ever ..... so ...... I dont know you are saying

Yeah I broke down and bought my wife a Lexus RX300 Silverstar. I could have gotten a GM for a lot less. But the RX IS REALLY a SWEET :D ride and gets around 20/21mpg town and 24/25mpg highway.

Good Luck with whatever you decide.......and screw the PC "happy holidays"

The choice here is easy, you keep both cars.
Stu, my mistake lol, its V8...and it was swapped from another Cadi, dont know which...but it was a northstar...I know one when I see one. sorry about that.
I only want one car, so I have to choose
the sts is nice i've driven them, but i wouldn't buy one... i don't really like GMs at all, nor ford for that matter. i would say the legend will last for longer then the sts, most non american cars last longer then american cars... legend should get better gas mileage, but the cadi does have some sick options, ie, autoleveing suspension, rain sensing wipers, Electrochromatic Exterior Mirrors, autohead lights, Electrochromatic Rear View Mirrors, but it is slower then legend and legend is much much more fun to drive. but it also had a V8 and RWD which is fun as well... me personally i don't like legend sedans but the coupe is nice.
