I was wanting to clean out the IAC valve to help my idle a little bit. Am I completely off the mark when I try to do this? I want to do this because when I start the car my idle goes to 1500 then drops to 800 suddenly and then rises again. Maybe this is normal. Once the car has ran for 10 seconds it is perfect. It just sounds like it is hard on the engine.

My car does the same thing when I start it. Up, down, then back to normal. It doesn't fail. Scares me sometimes, but I've gotten use to it. Doesn't hurt to give it a shot. Good luck!

I have cleaned it on my '93 accord before and it was easy- the screen can get clogged with some carbon and create a rough/low idle. I have not attempted it on the Legend

i have the same exact issue...feels like one of the cylinders is not firing...almost..kinda rough...runs really low,..and then you hop the gas and its money like nothing is wrong...

a buddy suggested Seafoam into every orafice...?

injectors needs cleaning?

plugs ?

do coil packs go bad?

i agree that the issues never lasts tho-
