ok so there has been this storming threatening to come and give us alot of ice, and after about 4 days of threatening to ice it finally does. and it does BAD. i couldnt even get into my car.

heres the pic of my window seam, as you can see, there is a half inch of ice covering it, making it a struggle to open the door. i tried to open the door so i could turn on the HIDs for the pics. but i didnt wanna break my handle off!

Yall getting a taste of that the north to mid eastern states get during the winter, fun driving in the snow long as you know how to drive in it. I used to pour rubbing alcohol over the ice when mines would freeze up like that on the windows.

And Sergio as far as it messes up the paint, long as you don't scratch through the ice and hit you paint it should be ok.

yea i used an old gift card and a spatula to remove the ice, it was easy. i pulled off sheets of ice like 4x4 square and half inch thick. i was also able to roll down my window, and smash out the ice. it was weird, i felt like i was breaking my own window!!

yea my paint is fine. no salt or anything

I could have sworn that my car thanked me when I woke up Wednesday morning...it was just chillin in the garage. However, it took me 30 minutes to free my pickup from the ice and ditch.

(I park my truck in my ditch...which was wet, icy and muddy from the weather, so it was a mud-dogging slush fest trying to get it out! Stupid 2WD open diff!!! My neighbor came out and said, "you need any help?" I told him no and he asks me if I've tried to back up. I said no, put it in reverse and drove right out...pesky neighbors!)

Anyhoo...after all of that, school was cancelled for the day and then I had to start working on the wife's truck to get it unfrozen so she could go to a Dr.'s appt (we are 7 months pregnant with our 3rd kiddo!). It was a cold morning. It was more slushy here than icy. Cars were iced over, but roads were like driving on a 7-11 Icey! Needed more grape flavoring though...

Awesome pictures.

I find a solid coverage of ice/snow like that, if given the time to thaw itself and not scraped does wonders for cleaning the car. As it drips dry, the water takes all the dirt down with it. At least, with the snow I've encountered here in VA, that's what seems to happen. It was always fun in college to go find my car a few days after it snowed and see it sparklin' away.

And damn... I've never seen ice on rubber like that!

Texas is frozen over and VA hasn't even seen flurries (not that we're known for our snow or anything of the sort but it usually gives us a dusting a couple times annually)... what the hell is wrong with this planet?

Edit: come to think of it. I'm ok with this... I drove to work under beautiful blue skies on dry pavement w/ the sunroof back, sportin corners and straights the whole way while blasting tunes... you can have your ice and snow.

Ha I didnt notice this was from last year. We have ice all over the cars and trees, power is out in prolly 35% of springfield and surrounding area curently.. This hopefully wont be as bad as last year as more than 90% of the area was without power for over a week and some for almost a month!
