I have a 1994 GS Sedan. It idles @ around 200-300 RPM. Is this normal?

Compared to my 90 Coupe with the 2.7L engine that one went on idle from 500-1100RPM

(Still getting used to the switch)

200-300? wow, i idle at around 500 RPM's, i believe anywhere from 500-700 is normal, i think u might need to take a look at the idle adjust valve near the throttle body, but i don't have Type 2 engine so i might be wrong...

Per the factory manual:

Idle Speed (for GS):
(with headlight and cooling fan off)

Auto : 630 +/- 50 (Neutral or Park)

Manual : 680 +/- 50

Fast Idle RPM : 1,500 +/- 200

A few days after I original posted this, I noticed it was actually about 500 or so.

idling means after you have driven the car and the engine is all heated up, right?

I'm driving down to LA this weekend and cannot wait to drive my new GS!!!
I'll pay closer attention to my idling too!

Upon closer inspection, my official idle is 400-550rpm after 5mins. Or if I have just finished driving it. My startup idle is ~1200rpm, then starts to drop to about 550rpm, finally resting at ~450rpm. Before I start driving my car, I usually wait for the rpm to drop below 1000rpm

That is exactly what I do - I wait for the RPM to drop below 1000 before I drive the car!

I've been doing it on 1991L and do it on my 1994 GS also.
