Ignition coil replacement

When was the last time any of you replaced your coils? What did it cost?

Have any of you had to replace your ignitor? Is a defective ignitor easy to notice because the tach bounces around ? I know my integra ignitor was going out when this happened.

So I'm taking a trip and figured I'd at least buy one new coil. Cost me $77. GAK!

Imagine buying all 6! and at list price even...$100 ea.
I got lucky and found 6 coils on ebay. I won them for around $130 shipped. Good luck.

I guess $130 is worth the risk of buying used coils that may not work...

There is a test procedure to check if your coil is bad. The resistance between the #1 and #2 pis on the coil (the bottom two pins) should be 1ohm +/- 10%, or .9-1.1 ohms at 77degrees (which is obviously at room temp and not just after driving around).

So I tested my coils and theyre all about the same, even the new one, so its harder than described to tell if a coil is bad or not. Its easier to drive the car and tell that the motor is misfiring instead :p
They were brand new. Still in the original acura packaging.
too bad u bought some, i got a set of six burnin a hole in a shelf in my garage
