HI
I currently own a 1989 legend coupe 5spd, about a week ago i started having some problems. When i would stand still on the car the rpms would drop and the car would stall so that same i would started back up. then again it would stall and it did this about 3 times and then on the fourth time it would not start.
I checked the spark and it turned out there was the spark going to the distributor, checked to see if the coil blew and it did. I replaced the main realy and igniter realy and got the coil started it back fine then again drove around the block and same thing the coil blew again can u tell me would could possibly cause this type of glitch...
Pls reply ASAP

hm.. im having same problems.. my ignition wire is bad or something.. b/c sometimes.. when i go to start the car.. i don't hear the engine cranking.. its like the ignition isn't doing jack crap ... also.. my car is stalling when i brake too hard (auto).. how high are the RPMs when you idle? i Idle really low around 700-800.. my car is an 89 Coupe.. but its an auto.. so ... im just wondering if there are any known ignition problem with the 89s?

Donny - It's supposed to idle that low. That is probaly a seperate problem from the non-start. I had a similar problem- it ended up being the main relay. Check to see if you are getting a spark when you are cranking it.
