Anyone had their ignition replaced on their G2 lately. Whats involved and how much for a new one.

There is not to much to our ignition systems. Just the ecu, igniter module and the coil packs. Oh, also the interconnecting cables. System should never need to be replaced. Only time to upgrade would be if a serious amount of "altered atmosphere" was applied.

Sometimes my key is hard to turn in the ignition and I was told it may be time for a new ignition. I'm just curious about the price and labor of a new one. Someone said my tumblers are going bad.

Try spraying some silicone lube in the switch - it worked great on my 92. Replacing the switch on my 91 cost about $350 - it was on a warranty from the dealer.
