I took my car last Friday to the dealer hoping that I just needed an A/C service and not a repair. They had my car for 5 days and today told me they converted/retrofited to R134A and recharged but I have a leak. So they did a dye test & I believe they said leak might be in the evaporator.
So I spent $307.52 & the AC still isn't fix. They quoted me $1,500 to repair evaporator & expansion valve. They also said my compressor is not turning on, maybe due to the ECU. So that will cost extra.
I live in SoCal so it's too hot to be driving without A/C
Now I'm debating whether I should sell the car or not.
Did I do the right thing by having the A/C checked out by the dealer???
