Engine bay before (man that is dirty!):

Engine bay after (ok, so it's still dirty, but it now has a nice strut bar and an intake!):

Intake removed (the stock intake takes up a lot of space):

Throttle body (boy those f*cking hoses are on tight! no freaking room either):

Intake installed (my next step will be to put together an ice-box for the intake):

Intake at throttle body (you can see the hoses below it, barely; I ended up reusing the two long hoses. I merely swapped their end-points, and clipped them back together.):

Intake vacuum hoses (I had to buy 2 extras, because ebay intakes suck! I still haven't figured out how to attach the sucky brackets yet. I hope the intake doesn't shake off):

Do you guys who have intakes get a big SUCKING noise when you shut off the car? I'm worried I may have a vaccum leak or something. This is the first time I installed an intake.

Well my friend has an intake that makes that sound also. I'm not sure if its ok or not but I dont think it is a problem.

yea i get that weird sucking noise as well when i shut the car off. i always wondered what it was but i just figured thats what it does when u install an intake. so thats normal for it to make that noise??

I get that noise as well, don't think it's a big deal. Don't worry about the bracket that came with the intake....I didn't use mine cause it sucked and I haven't had a problem yet. Good work on the new parts, everything looks good. Now just CLEAN THAT ENGINE! Car is looking really sharp, keep up the mods!

That sound when you shut off the car is just your new found ability to hear your internals working. If you hear a sucking sound you're hearing a cylinder on it's intake stroke etc.

intake question

ok guys i just bought one of those cheap ebay intakes, but have recently acquired a K&n filter, but anywayz on to the question, i have 3 holes on the side of the intake bar, isnt this the 1 for the TCCS?

no - pull off your intake and you will see the 3 tubes you need to connect.
