I have heard of many people with different makes and models doing modifications to their IAT sensors... Apparently this is done to artificially tell your ECU that there is colder air coming in, so that it can release more fuel...

Has anyone done this to their Legend? Just wondering, since it would be very easy to do and might give a decent horsepower increase. Especially since I live in WA where it gets up to a whole 70 degrees in the summer :p

One concern is that you will run too rich, especially at high RPMs (same problems with the older JR turbo IAT upgrade); but I think this could be overcome with a simple manual bypass switch (on/off) that you could flip once you hit a higher RPM/gear. Might help midrange... Any comments?

ok i'm not as knowledgable about combustion as many others on this board are, but i do have ideas...
First off, I think the ratio of air/fuel we burn is about 14lbs of air to 1lb of fuel...knowing this i think you wouldn't need to boost your fuel supply until you added some major Forced Induction (turbo, NOS, etc) Until then I suggest u try to get your air from the coldest source possible (CAI, etc) that might work out better for you :)

If you really want to play with air/fuel ratios and program certain settings at certain RPM, just get yourself an APEXi SAFC.

If you're going Turbo, you're going to have to re-do the entire fuel system anyways (bigger injectors, pump, etc).

Thanks for the comments. Right now I am running just a Weapon-R hot air intake, but I am getting a ram air kit in a few weeks. Anyone know how these work? Good enough to pay the money? My thoughts is that it should make it basically identical to CAI, just with the filter under your hood instead of in a bumper...

As far as this air/fuel mod, I think I may try it... If I decide to I'll let everyone know...

The Ram Air Kit doesn't work in the Legend. I have already tried it and so have a couple other members. Check out Reno's thread about the CAI extension that he is going to be selling for like $40-50.
