Hi, I'm new to this site and was browsing along when I came upon this great forum. I have a question if anybody knows. I was looking for the intake sensor in a 1989 Acura Legend L Sedan, and I had no luck. If anyone who knows where ( if it exists) it is, please let me know. Pictures would be extremely helpful!

I was browsing on Ebay and found these intake sensor mods that are supposedley add up to 20 horsepower, but what they really are, are resistors that can be found in an electronics store or from an electronics teacher at school. You can go to ebay and type in "acura legend intake" and some results should pop up describing what I am talking about. Anyway, i figured that it wouldn't hurt to try, but I don't know where the intake sensor is. If you have tried these restrictors, please tell me if they work, and if you know which intake sensor to put the resistor on, please post an answer. Thanks!

I believe the only sensors in a Legend engine are the 2 oxygen sensors.

Front and rear oxygen sensors.

However, I do know that some Civics and Integras have sensors right on the intake, that could be called that.

There's no sensor on the Intake for Legends. Just a vacuum line, unless that went to the internals of the engine and inside there, there's a sensor.

That +20 hp mod is garbage though.
Dont believe the hype.

would the intake mod work if it was put in one of the oxygen sensors? Doesn't make sense, but just asking. The only thing the mod does is trick the computer into thinking that there is colder air going into the intake than there really is, so it puts out more horsepower. If there is no way for the intake mod to work, is there any other ways to bypass the intake temperature sensor (if there is one)?

UM??? Some one, the post before me, said the legend only has 2 sensors. What about the crank position sensor, top dead sensor, manifold absolute pressure sensor, throttle position sensor, air intake temperature sensor, knock sensor, and temperature sensor. Even my neon had these, except knock sensor, please clarify by what you mean saying the legen only has two sensors.:giggle: :giggle: :giggle:

Dude.
I knew I said some messed up stuff.
I didnt mean the only 2 sensors in the car.....

But either way, that mod wouldnt work to the advertised 20 HP increase.

well, I knew it wouldn't be a full 20 hp gain, hence the catch phrase UP TO. But all i am interested in is where the intake sensor is so I can at least try. This way, I relay my findings and see if any horsepowers are gained. Please help me find this sensor! :(
