UPDATE: 04-16-2006

Finaly winter is over and the weather has warmed up and was able to install my new headlights! I also had to install additional wiring to run the JDM fogs with an additional switch located inside my centre console armrest.

Here are some pics from the latest photo shoot.

I havn't taken any beam pattern pics yet but what an amazing difference! The high-beams are out of this world at how bright they are! If you're not running HID high-beams, you don't know what you're missing! The patterns came out perfect except the driver side projector is slightly rotated about 1 - 2 degrees from normal (lower on the oncoming traffic side at least). It's barely noticable but I'm very picky although it's perfectly functional.. most people wouldn't even be able to tell.

Overall I'm happy with the success of this project and the improved night visibility and the modernized look of the car.

Let me know what you think.

I'm still toying with the idea of providing this service. I'm turning out another set, stay tuned... Except mine looks more OEM than this one --=Keith

Looks great everyone! Love your car godfather, definately a clean example of how a legend should look like.

I wonder if the person that bought my A6 projector retrofit off ebay 3 years ago posts on this forum. MAn only sold that thing for $50.

No, I did a Bi-Xenon setup that Kholering has now. How it works is you use a projector that has a moveing shield. When it's in it's resting position, it has a cut off that's low beam, when you activate it, it opens up the sheild and has a high beam cut off. That's why they call them bi-xenon. Pretty cool stuff. --=Keith

since everyone does the low beams how about doing both? Besides ballistic anyone retrofitted both lenses?

ps ur headlights are off the chain
I am planing on doing each. I have a set of e46 bi-xenon projectors for the low beams, and a set of e46 projectors for the high beams. I am going to use the high beam projectors for HID fogs using yellow D2S bulbs.

you can do both but HIDs have a warm up time of 30 seconds.
pretty useless if you're trying to flash someone... 1) because the bulbs arent at full brightness 2) you'll end up killing the bulbs and they will die prematurely from being flashed on and off.

i believe it says it in the BMWs owners manual about how HIDs should only be cycled on and off no more than 3 times within an hour.

btw someone has done the dual projectors before.

the only way i would reccomend doing dual beam setups is having a halogen high beam projector. and a low beam HID projector.

unless of course you're not really going to be using the high beams as to flash people

Geez HID Over kill!!! LOL keep it standard guys, just my opinion. Any way nah Dac Biet means "Special" or when you go to a restaurant it's like House Special. =D Also TL Projectors (expensive) are Bi-Xenon and TSX Projectors are regular. --=Keith

Godfather your HID retrofit looks sweet!!! much props to you. Only thing I have notice as I see you guys doing these retrofits is that I don't really like how it just doesn't look right (I guess OEM is what i'm saying). I looked at one of Godfather's pic and just looked at it for like 15 mins straight. I like very much but don't like how it doesn't fill the whole lampbase area.

I'm very impressed with Keith's and Keith's retrofits. Is the only diff. that you guys cut out the difuser? I just enjoy looking at you two's HID retro because even though they are projectors they fill the whole lamp area and looks OEM.

All else aside Godfather great job with you project. Looks like a mean Legend.
