just brought a legend...remote door locks ?

I just brought a 94 acura ls coupe automatic in great shape (its former owner was a retired school teacher, she was getting a bigger car the grandkids) but the only thing the car lacks is a cd changer and remote door locks. I was wondering what is the best way to get a remote door opener for the car, whether or not acura sold one? And if it would be better just to get an alarm with the remote door opener. The car came with the factory alarm, I'm just not sure of the quality of the factory alarm, but so far it seems adequate, just concerned if this was the case or not? I was able to find out from previous thread that my best bet on a cd changer is to get an alpine CHM, thanks for that info. Also I have already experience some brake fade after a very spirted drive to work and was wondering what is the best set up for improving the brakes. On my previous car (integra) I went with cross drilled rotors and EBC greenstuff breaks and I was very pleased with it, though later I was disappointed with EBC, but was wondering if that setup would be the best for the legend. Thanks for any information anyone can provide, this forum is great. thanks again

do not trust the factory alarm, I've experienced how lousy it is last month... Just get a aftermarket alarm system, that way you can save money and get better security since factory keyless entry system isn't cheap...

What did EBC green do to dissapoint you? Was it the new compound or the old one?
thanks for the reply, I think I will do the aftermarket alarm set up and get remote start at the same time. EBC disppointed me because after the pad was about 2/3 worn the material started grinding into my rotor on the driver side. It didn't do it on the passeger side and it still had material left on the pad. I have no idea why it did that, and I was almost disappointed with the amount of brake dust that it produces, and it took almost 2k miles before it stopped making break noise. Otherwise I really enjoyed the breaking performance of the pads, I felt they really did stop my car faster, and when I would drive someone else car I could really feel the difference between
yes, aftermarket alarm for sure...Viper or Clifford are good ones.
Brakes - go for some Brembo's with either AEM, Axxis or EBC...

I have had the Axxis and AEM's and been pleased with both, hjowever, the AEM's had more "bite".

Did you do the initial 250-500 mile break in on your other rotors?
hmm~ weired~
never heard of the situations that you had and mine became completely silent after 100 miles or so~ For brake dust, mine's not visible until 2 weeks later and I'm using x-drilled rotor too~

 Well, at least now I know what to watch out for:)

Know what else is weird? Mine was never noisy.
mine was making a gripping sound... like you are trying to grab something slippery:p I think it was because of the plating on the powerstop. So how do you like your current setup as of now??
You mean on my auto GS? I love it! Grips very nicely. The one on the 6-speed has got to go though. Even my g/f thinks that it should be changed. :)

BTW, I'm still waiting on my SS lines. I'll have to remember to contact them to get another set though. :)
Thanks for all the info, this forum is great.

I did allow the brakes to break in, in fact I was really soft on the Integra until about 1k, just to play it super safe. Didn't want to warp the rotors or anything. thanks again guys

 It's that bad that even your GF complained?? Wow~

We need to sticky the "call for SS lines" onto your todo list:D

BTW, after I changed the lines, I'm not loosing brake fluid anymroe:cool:
not sure if we're still talking about keyless entry, lol, but if u wanna keep your stock alarm and have remote door locks u can do what i did and buy something like this BK4123 I have it on my car and it works for me :)
