what are your opinions on this? i can bring it down to a 1 ohm load with either. is there a difference between the 2?
these subs will be powered by an alpine 1507. should be plenty of power. but question still is 2 or 4 ohm? what do you guys think?

there shouldnt be any noticable difference between the two...

how do you plan to bring it down to 1ohm with a single dvc4? and if multiple subs are you talking about runnnig the same number of subs for each kind of configuration?

ion that case I would go with stereo subs :) hehehe, no real reason, but some people believe they sound better :)

but with some amps you get slightly more power when bridged, but I doubt it is a noticable difference.

sorry, i'm planning on running 2 of these subs.

correct me if i'm wrong, in the 4 ohm sub, if i wire the VC's in parallel and then wire the two subs in parallel, isn't that 1 ohm?

.....
ah ha! i just figured it out. with a 2 sub setup, i can't get 1 ohms with the 2 ohm subs. i can only get 2ohms at most by wiring the VC's in series then wiring the subs in parallel.

which do you think is better? 1 ohm load for 2 subs or 2 ohms?
remember, i have the alpine 1507. i can't remember if the amp can handle a 1ohm load.

This should help you get a basic understanding of Ohm's Law. Everyone who loves car audio should have this page in their favorites.

Jae, careful with those low ohm loads...look at my trunk pics I have (2) ORION XTR 2250 "BEASTS" and an HCCA 225....you know I work part time at an Audio company over here... I can get you a hcca225 for $100 used ofcourse...this was the amp that rocked the IASCA competitions in the early 90's and still kicks those new amps around....My subs are run at 8 ohm with the PPI's but you know I blew two of them when I tried another SPL test...I will continue to run 8 ohm on the new JL's, and my car at it's first show with this set up hit 156.8db at a four ohm setup...i go for clarity so I tend to keep the ohms higher plus I know my amps are not being strained and my subs aren't overworked, I only take the ohms down for the shows.....later..take care J email me when you have time too.

Oh yeah..check this out!
