Language Filter?

Yeah, I don't see the purpose of disabling swearing at all really. For the most part we are just a bunch of guys sitting around talking about cars , what is really the purpose of having any words disabled. If somebody wants to say sh1t they will just spell it like that or D4MN like that. f*ck, etc.... what is the point of making it difficult

Well, I want my forums to be clean. I am a Christian and I really don't want filth on my forums...Many, including me find profanity offensive. I am sure, that out of more than 1000 members, I am not the only person who doesn't want it. The purpose is that I want my forums to be professional b/c they may be a business opportunity for me in the future. I dont' think the people who want the profanity will find it offensive if I disable it. May find it hard to swallow, but these are my rules. Thankyou for your cooperation.

But the word D4MN? That seems like taking it a little too far man. What worse if someone types that word, and it comes out like this: **** people are going to think it was a much much worse 4 letter word.

BTW what Avatar is that? Looks like a flashing playboy bunny, lmao...

I agree FutureX with you on that one. I have no problem with everything else that is blocked...but for the word [email protected] showing up as **** doesn't make too much sense.

Plus, isn't the word [email protected] supposed to be a clean way to express frustration or disbelief instead of saying sh*t or other four letter words?

I also agree on that one...I do not like profanity on here either, for it is non-professional, but the D word being bleeped out looks like the "s" word, "f" word, etc. Maybe your filter can turn the d word into "darn" instead of stars...just a thought.

heh, well back to the original topic, not DMB, what bout the word D*mn??? Why not a vote or something? You replied earlier about keeping the forum clean and that's great, but how do you feel specifically about that word?

Rescind? What does that mean? All I know is that Dave is the man...Amazing rhythm guitarist and singer...(Watch videos of him and look how he dances/sings/plays, all perfectly simultaneously...

I find the DMB to be excellent, I hadn't listened closely to their work before. I understand why they have a fanatical following- it's warranted.
