Ok guys, this is my problem. I plan to get a 94/95 LEgend type 2 6 speed coupe. Seems so hard to find one in good condition without paying high price. Run across a 2001 CL type S with 118k miles for $7500. And I can get a 96 SC400 for about $8k with 90k miles. And Legend seems to be the oldest model among 3. I never own a legend nor any of these cars that I mentioned. I mod and drove a 93 legend sedan before when I was staying with my friend. Even it is a L model with auto, I love the ride. And the CL model seems to have tranny problem, I dun want to spend $$$ to replace it later on. So I am wondering is the aging Legend still worth the $$$ and it actually catch on the realibility and fun of a CL and SC400? Thanks for the input! :bigok:

I would say go for the lexus. The v8 is highly optioned and pretty powerful. I saw a video where they placed a nickel standing up on the intake manifold and reved to redline a few times and it didnt fall over... Goes to show Lexus will be thee most reliable and smoothest ride outta your choices, my .02

I wouldn't get an SC400 based on the fact that they never had a manual transmission. I also wouldn't get a CL-S unless it was an 03' 6MT. But it depends on what you want the car for. Keep in mind the Legend has very little aftermarket support, so if that's what you're going for, you're SOL.

i would get the SC 400. yep that suck that SC doesn't have MT unless you have a JDM one. and CL-S with 6MT is super rare just like our legend 5spd and 6spd. I saw only one CL-S before with 6 spd MT when my dad bought his TL back in 03 in Jamaica NYC. the CL-S has 7k miles blk on blk navigation equiped and 6 MT holly god that car look dam hot lol. the tag price was $21999 back in 03.

The SC4 ia more reliable than all of them. 260HP is a bit high though. A lot of people i saw were dyoning at around 200whp.The SC is not a light car. The SC3 can be turboed pretty easily.. if you want to really get massive amounts of power. CL-S is nice.. FWD with little modding though. Get some one to back a strong warranty for its tranny. Its a throw up i think..

Well mods are available for the 400 but are pricey.

The 300 is the way most go since the mods are available for it. Plus honestly you dont gain that much by getting the V8 in the 400. Find an sc300 MT and you will be happy.

With the choices you listed above, if your staying stock 95 Coupe 6speed only. If you dont need the MT go with the SC.

I actually just drove an SC400 with 29k miles on it yesterday. I was condsidering buying it, but it didn't do it for me. It had a worse steering feel than my coupe, and I was not impressed at all withe the performance. Honestly, My legend feels significantly faster. It was just a blah car to drive. I say if you go for an SC, look for a 98-99. They boasted a bigger V8, and are probably more fun to drive.

honestly, a legend coupe still catches my eye a lot more than an sc... those are all over the place. granted i have to say that lexus are probably going to win on the reliability game... but it's going to be a tough call. the G2 legend coupe i think is probably one of the nicest looking cars acura/honda has made - after the nsx and s2k that is :D

i dunno??...i drove a friends sc400 b4 on the highway and all, and it felt ok, but not what i thought...i didnt really like the light steering feel, felt artificial, ours feel stellar...rwd is great, but i cant think to where i came across any difference in drivetrain...(maybe the steering feeling was the diff?)...but overall i wasnt all that impressed to where i felt i should have bought an sc. and i have a 91 coupe, not even type 2, and it didnt feel soooo powerful 2 me...a bit torquey but hey...and the models b4 95-96 sc (and 1g GS) have STUPID electrical problems! so engine being reliable, yes...but the rest of the car (electrics), i dunno...peace

Well its already pimped for you..

I'm in Nor Cal and here SC's are the car of choice in the hood so every thugg thizzle has one with color coded tint on 22's in the name of the hyphe movement, there all over the place. In my eyes these guys degraded the car for me so I have no desire to ever own the car I once loved. I don't see very many Legend coupes though let alone 94-95's with the intgrated third break light.
