My legend tends shake violently over bumps, i took it to my mechanic he just pushed on the hood and the trunk and told me the front two shocks are done. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had a similar problem and is it really the front shocks ?

Sounds like blown shocks. Time for a new suspension.

I'm fairly certain the KYBs aren't really stock part as in OEM though they are a viable replacement. OEM shocks are a higher quality part and that last better then the KYBs... at a price though of course.

It's totally feasible the the mechanic would notice your shocks are done by pushing on the front end and if your shocks are original, it's totally likely given their age that they're shot... depending on what your mileage is, the odds only increase.

If you're happy with the stock ride, new OEM struts are a bit pricey but it shouldn't be that big a difference over the KYBs (it certainly wasn't when I did it) and they last well. Unless you've noticed visible sag in the body, the springs can be reused. If it's just the front that are blown, it may not be necessary to do all 4 at once but instead just do the front. At the time, labor costs were what drove me to do what I did figuring I'd eventually switch to Konis on Eibachs anyways (but I bought an M3 instead so that's on hold for a long while).

If you want to firm up a bit you can go with Konis but you'll have to do all 4.

If you want to drop and firm up, Konis w/ Eibach or H&R springs are a good bet.

I really cant afford to do all 4 shocks, i was thinking of just replacing the front two and get the normal ride height back. Sometimes its just soo annoying driving my legend when it goes over bumps all the interior components i bet have loosened up a lot due to all the shaking and everything. so would the kyb's be a good replacement for the oem ones? is it gonna cause the nose to drop down ?

Hey dude, I'm selling those shocks. I installed the Gabriel shocks in the rear and they seem fine so far. I live in Brampton and my mechanic can intall the shocks for a good price. PM me if you are interested.

It sounds like the KYBs or OEM will do just fine for what you're trying to accomplish.

Installing the front alone will be fine... you don't have to worry about dropping, etc with either shock.

I know nothing of the Gabriels...

Gabriels were one of the first or most well known for their air shocks. Excellent products and reliability.
