Brake Check offers it for $90 here in houston. i've asked around about this topic and i get negative responses from everyone saying that there's no such thing as a lifetime alignment, and it's just a gimmick for them to take your money. what do you guys on the forum think?
Lifetime alignment does not mean the alignment lasts forever -- it means you can have it redone whenever you want.

It is good idea if you plan on keeping the car for a while - like through a couple sets of tires.
In general, it really is a marketing gimmick, but you can get it to work to your advantage also. If you do plan to get a lifetime alignment, make sure you ask for a print out of the specs before and after the alignment. This will ensure that the company does the work instead of you just having to take their word for it. I got a lifetime alignment on my car awhile back (paid for itself in 3 trips), but I made it a point to ask for a printout each time. There was one point where the shop kept telling me that their printer was broken...and this was over 3 months. I'm sure they were trying to get out of doing the work, so I just told them I wanted to see the specs on the screen which they finally agreed too. In any event, just get some proof that the work is actually getting done.
yeah i'm planning on keeping the car for a longtime and i'm about to lower it, so it's definitly an investment
Lifetime Alignment

Sears used to have that but there isn't such thing anymore b/c they figure lots of money lost.
If you lower it all your specs change. You will need to take it to a shop that can determine what your new specs are suppose to be. Once you have these new specs you can take it to any alignment place.
I think its worth it

Especially if u live near rail tracks. Cross em at least 5 times a day

Tires Plus offers em down here in lauderdale

I know they do their work coz the last time I had it checked independently by two other shops.
Firestone offers a life time alignment, balance and rotation, and if you wait for it to go on sale, you can get it for cheap.

I take my cars in every 5,000 miles and have the oil changed, the tires rotated and balanced and the car aligned, all for under $20.

good idea!

considering an alignmnet runs me ~$50, a $90 lifetime deal would've already paid for itself a few times....

wish i could find it around here (rural BFE GA for the time being)
Oh! drama

The only lifetime deal i have on my sedan is for the brakes, they have not gone bad yet so, i've not returned to brake check. From what i understand from people that have taken advantage of some lifetime deals, is that, whenever you try going back the company will try looking for some thing else that needs fixing before they fix what you have on life time. This is where they try selling you on other products, they might even threating that if the newly found problem is not fixed on time; it will void the existing warranty. However, if they can't find anything(related problem)on your car, you can be sure you have the upper hand.Just make sure your car is in good shape before going back.Good luck

It's located at the corner of Holcomb Bridge and Spalding, which is two lights after you come over the river. Turn right on Spalding. Any Firestone should have the same program.

Now remember, you have to purchase the lifetime program first and then you get all the work done for the cost of the oil change. I purchased the lifetime alignment, around $100 - 125, and lifetime rotation and balance, around $20 per tire, five years ago when I bought the car. Since then, I have put 70,000 miles on the car and have had a rotation, balance and alignment done every 5,000 miles, or 14 or 15 times for a total one time cost of $200 - 250. I had my vette aligned there yesterday and had I not had the lifetime alignment it would have cost me $79.95.
