First I apologize for the serious teaser and putting up pics of a project without results and dyno's because there are none. And who knows how long it could be before I go any further it could be a year or more! I just love hearing the ideas suggestions, feedback and knowlege you all have to offer. Isn't that a bulk of what we are here for? :) Well as many of you know I am currently underway with the Supercharger setup. It has been a very slow process but is still underway and the manifold for it is now being welded from what I understand.

I could not get over how much I loved Hotlava's tt setup and it overcame me. So I figured at some point in the future I also wanted to do a tt setup and began slowly buying the additional pieces it would take to do so (being that many are the same, such as injectors, fuel pump monitoring gauges and what not). Then last week my car decide to get some garage time (it broke down later found to be a broken axle, Ebay? I think it was tsk tsk). But none the less it was a perfect excuse to play while she was down so I started to look at how I would eventually want my tt to be setup. What better way than to play. It helps kill concepts that look good in your head given the (not so) workable space; a few of my ideas have since died. But long story short this is where I am at so far. Now that my wife knows that it is just a broken axle I only have shipping time to continue playing before having to put her back together again.

A couple quick notes

-No this will not be done/completed for a very very long time.-This is very new to me so I would be the last to ask for suggestions though I love to share ideas.
-Yes the supercharger project is still underway and taking precedence over this.

-No I did not wake up one morning and say I am going to do a Legend Twin turbo setup during breakfast (sorry Hybird, that just kills me lol)
-No I am not going to be using PVC intercooler piping it is just cheaper to hack away at till I figure how I am going to do it when the time comes.
-I have also read up on some articles of Twin vs. Single and each seem to have there advantages from knowlegable members of their respective forums.
-cheap clamps will be replaced with t-clamps.

Ok the book is done here's the pics. (excuse the mess my garage is at war)
also please forgive the ugly "stand in" mesh and terrible paint, looks will come last. I don't want to tear it up after doing body work and paint.

This one concerns me, there is not much rook and there is a damn brake fluid line that may need to be relocated. wires and hoses I don't mind moving brake, AC, and power steering lines I am not so happy/experinced with.

Hopefully at some point I will be done destroying my car and be able to build it up like the one in my head lol.

-Tip- If you get a new intercooler or radiator, cover the fins with cardboard until it is fully installed so you don't damage the fins during installation :hide:

PS. The purple finish and and nice shiney engine bay will be back in time. it was too hard to maintain and not scratch to hell while getting a bug of some sort and doing stuff like ^ this. I think eventually I will powdercoat vs. paint though.

No racersonly I didn't blw off your question I just hadn't really read through the last page. You sir are correct and that is actually well covered in the links that I posted. What I post really highlights the build but if anyone really wanted to do this I would strongly encourage reading through each of the links as I assure you that unless you do this for a living or have as a hpbby for a long time you would be bound to learn something. But the direct answer to your question is they have an ID of 1.5".

snip here tuck there and prblem solved :D

Well here are a few more pics to show symetry and size before the go back to be welded up. It is coming along well, Thank you Vic!

collectors should be here any day (hopefuly the water temp gauge will be too)

Ohh those headers look mean!!

#404 ·
Thank you, hopefully the work will pay off.

#406 ·
of course this is really going to happen, I have too much going into it for it not to. The SC hopefully is in route back to me. It still needs a little work so it will be on the back burner for a bit, atleast till I get this done.

#408 ·
ceramic coating yes, red no. lol I will do your set in red though. (foreshadow?)

#409 ·
im impressed telion, its coming together very nicely, how are you going to route the exhaust after its fed to the turbos?

#415 ·
I apologize for not coming back to this Forevrea, first I wanna say thank you for the compliment it means a lot. As for the exhaust route the current plan is to run a y off each turbo closer to the passengerside of the engine and between the radiator and the engine behind the front part of the suspension rack (this is from memory sorry), then axleback style over the axles and then straight back. I will see if I can find a pic.

#411 ·
Thank you, I will keep that in mind but as for these turbos there purpose will be to determine how far this project will go. I won't put much money into them (if your talking like 50.00 for both you got it). The goal would be to step up to a larger set of turbos and press forward:)

#420 ·
That is definately part of the plan and I already have connections in place to make it happen. The first step though will be to complete the project. I also have a few other small scale things that I want to make available for us as well. If we don't have an established aftermarket, we can come together and create one :)

Black reservoir with a yellow lid where our fuse box is: is that his coolant reservoir?

It strikes me as a bad idea to put such a large heat source as a turbo right next to the line carrying that little bit of extra coolant into the radiator when the thermostat opens. Won't you be making the cooling system work just that much harder?

I suppose it's an inevitability really: turbos are going to bring heat into the system one way or another right? Hopefully the Legend's design is up to the task.

[Note: I'm guessing here... it's just what first occurred to me when I was watching that video and I'm curious if it's of concern in your design Telion]

Well a few things if you are referring to the side coming from the turbo going into the TB than nope not doing that but it looks cool and I don't think it would impact the cooling ability of the cooling system ( which I also aided with an upgraded all aluminum C&R racing radiator with a SPAL high speed fan). Also though it looks cool, wonder what type of intercooler(s) he is using. and I would not merge at the TB like he did. Ok just re-read the email and see the overflow reservoir and I don't see that as an issue I would probably shield it from the headers, but as long as it doesn't melt it should be fine. mine is actually located in the front driverside wheel well.

Do you realize how much bumper I had to cut to fit those pipes in there , not to mention the intercooler, which is bigger than the one pictured. We will definitely be in the market for an aftermarket bumper and I really need a lip spoiler because I cant fit the factory one without it ending up looking like a cut up plastic flap.

I dread actually cutting my 94+ bumper I have. I might end up taking that one to the body shop for a professional fitting.

Hmm possibly a benefit to having a coupe (and a 91' bumper)? Yeah I agree though with the spoiler lip or atleast the area behind it. I do have the Sarona front bumper but I am shying further and further away from putting it on this car. I will try to get a pic up of how I mounted the reservoir though it may need to be re-fabbed out of aluminum depending on the heat.

Ok, I mentioned that I would put up a pic of the location of the reservoir so here it is with a few other semi related pics.

The collectors had some issue in the ordering process, but I re-ordered them and they should
be here tomorrow (was suppose to be here today) but the water temp gauge arrived :)

#428 ·
can you send that to me via paypal :), just kidding and I know what your sayin and would never put this on a non turbo'd Legend.

#431 ·
Hmm, good point I do have something over there already though. But I will look at rearranging things a little.

And once I here how the car sounds with the muffler I will revisit replacing it but I seriously doubt it will sound like a fart can on a V6 TT setup.
