Well regressive updates lol. I was not satisfied with the way the magnaflow y is constructed nor the way it forced me to position the piping and all the difficulty it would have caused to place the exhaust piping so I made a new Y that better met my needs and am making some minor adjustments to get it to work out. I also found away to route te stainless steel lower radiator hose.

Ok time for a few pics not much new stuff to see I have not had time to work on it lately

hopefully your fan doesn't melt being that close to the exhaust.. i forgot if you said you were going to wrap the exhaust pipes or not

Yeah I am going to bring the downpipe toward the engine about another inch and I do plan to get it and the headers Jet hotted in crome once I am done. I hear it provides better heat protection than exhaust wrap and will have a much nicer look to it. if all else fails I will flip the fan to the ohther side since there is enough room between it and the intercooler even with the oil cooler there which will eventually have cold air ducted to it.

Ok I think I am finally satisfied to the point where I am ready to have the front half of the exhaust welded so here comes more of the same, unless you have a keen eye and of course the obvious which is the passenger side is complete

In a box at the moment there location remains unchanged.

This build is becoming something of a mess: piping EVERYWHERE!

Glad it's coming along though Telion: keep up the good work!

because we have a v6 instead of an inline 6, its gonna be pretty messy when we mount the turbo or turbos up front, the only way to avoid all that mess is to make a rear mount turbo system where the turbo is mounted right after the y merge and then you'll only really see the intake and charge pipes for the turbo, if I ever get some extra money to throw around, that is what ill be doing.

wasn't hotlava running twin behind the y... wait that was an x right oops thanks bussinessman.... T u must be getting anxious now..

Telion how come you didn't bend the exhaust pipes down imediately on the exhaust part of the turbo and run the driver side pipe towards the passenger side by the crank and not how you did? To me this could have been cleaned up alot more using a few more bends

With limited fab experience and a home garage, theres only so much a person can do. I ran into that problem too and I have much more fab experience.
Also just in case, please don't pretend like you've done all your own fab work, because I will never believe you.
Now car2n, that's a fabricator from start to finish.

I never claimed to do all my own fabrication though. I just have a good personal fabricator.

I just don't want someone to pay to have something done when it looks like it could be fixed pretty easily. Could have used all steel piping and welded it together with a typical house welder and then had someone replicate all the piping for him in whatever he wants it to be.

Point I was tring to imply is that you go around many performance threads picking things apart. Thats fine granted you earned the right to do so.
You have a nice shiny powder coated engine, I give you that much.
All show and no go. I already know the rebuttle, your just holding out. Somthing tells me you need to find new help because, it doesnt take that long once your already up and running, and turbo running you have claimed.

OOO really so your going turbo too?... sick, single or twin
if i decide to go along with it, it would be a single t04b turbo with a 62-1 compressor trim. It makes my mouth water thinking about it :)

95legendGS, do you have any pictures of your setup? I didn't realize you had an up and running turbo

foreva yes there's a few members on this board that have pictures of my engine bay and a video of it running. But those who have it know why I won't revel everything yet. Hopefully they keep their mouths shut till I do. :)

DandDee your more likely to see me at a tristate meet.

Dv8 I'm currently not running properly telion can attest to it as I've been telling him my issues so far and how he's been wanting to work with it.

But enough OT everyone this is telions thread please lets not drag it off topic.

Interesting twist of events in this thread but, here is the thing. When and if you see this when it is done you will see and appreciate the work of art that it is. In addition, yes there are some limitations that I am having to work with yes (short of welding and tuning) I am doing it all. I also find it interesting that everyone talks of Dv8 vs. so and so and how this setup is better than that. But in reality do any of us have any experience regarding this? Has anyone noticed that those that know there stuff or are working with people who do aren't talking down the setup?

If you doubt this build, look at the comments noted on Homemadeturbo.com. Now there opinions hold wait because there's members there with enough experience in this genre to convert a Kirby vacuum into a turbo and run 10's (ok that's a stretch lol). But before get any more Swiftish I will just continue doing what I do and giving you info every step of the way and then when it is all said and done I will just say it is what it is. And whatever that is is still to be determined. Rant done lol. Happy New Year :)

P.S. HMT thread isn't work safe as I had noobie requirements to fulfill :D
