I was not home to receive a package today and really wish dispatch could call the driver that has my package find out his exact location to give to me to meet him and pick it up instead of having to wait till tomorrow. . .aarrrrrr the anticipation is killing me. and I have to work a 100 hours tomorrow. DAMN it

Ok I can't sit on this any longer here is my wastegate solution :D The detials
I spoke of previously, yeah intentional typo :)

Now to place them and design how they are going to fit (color scheme is a go!)

Thanks DV8, it looks great.

Ok here is my idea on where I will place the wastegates opinions and feedback are encouraged, especially since I have no clue how hot these get. Though I have a feeling heat won't be the issue here. Boost creep might be, not sure though. Lastly disregard the wiring it won't be there since it is assisting in keeping them in place.

hondaman23 provides these if you are interested:D
I think hondaman23 provides an actual LSD (better but more)not the phantom grip (good enough for me for now)

Heh, I laughed when I saw you were the one who picked this up after dv8 said it wasn't good for the power he planned to make. I figured you'd be in the same boat.

Wastegates look great

both phantom grip and hondaman lsd's are actually pretty similar in design.. the hondaman is just a beefed up phantom grip from my understanding. What I would really like to see are some helical type lsds

Thanks, and good point eventually yes but it will be a while before I reset my goal beyond 400hp, I need to go at this in stages. :) Hopefully by that time I can score some stronger axles and a better diff good for upto 1k hp not that I will ever get there.

Ok I need an opinion about the wastegates.

Here is the dilemma I want to be able to tie the wastegates into the exhaust but I also want to unhook it and run an open wastegate, and I want to not run into the issue down the road with the dump pipes cracking from heat expansion. I was thinking of this vs. adding a flexpipe to a dump pipe. Yes I know I am over thinking this :)

We are definitely not to the exciting stuff yet, sorry guys. Because of another thread I had recently posted in I have decided to share with you the filters I decided to go with. After spending hours searching I could not find the combination of what I wanted in a filter in anything besides the Apexi and the Fujita filter. So for the price and at the expense of maybe 2 or 3 hp I decided to go with Fujtia.

A velocity stack at the top of the filter

Dry synthetic fiber

a velocity cone on the inside of the filter and smoothed edges

The reasonable price and decent brand (wont fall apart on me) for the above options had me at hello, but I still kept looking and could not find anything else in that price range. Most were just over priced for on par hp gains and filtration ability.

Ok out of boredom and indecisiveness I decided to go ahead and fabricate the pieces that redirect the wastegate into the downpipe and make a set of dump pipes that vent to atmosphere without catching my car on fire lol. I didn't want to do the pieces that vented to atmosphere do to all of the bends it would take and the cost of the elbows. Then I remembered the $60.00 350z headers I hacked up for nothing and that they too deserved to not be a waste of money :) so I put them to good use.

A little info I didn't know prior to this build

The reason this decision was difficult was because you gain hp by venting to atmosphere (but it won't pass emissions/inspection). You also gain hp by running the BOV blowoff back into the intake manifold, which I will also be doing. You simply can't pass up free hp. Here's the picks of the piping less the flanges that are not in yet.

I need to get some 1.5" straight pipe to replace the chrome part. From left to right the pieces are
Drivers side redirect to exhaust, passenger side redirect, passenger side atmosphere, driver side atmosphere.

I was reading about it on and offline many it was proven so on a few cars on in Dyno comparisons. Though the gains are minimal (2-5 whp on average for both) they are gains. I can see what I can dig up, have you tried this comparison on the Legends motor because that would certainly be more accurate and some good info to know.

Buzzard I am glad you check me on this because as I read more about the BOV recirculation to the intake manifold it so far seems to only be beneficial for cars that run an MAF sensor not a MAP sensor for the purpose of maintaining proper AFR between shifts. But I am going to keep searching and reading.
