I was thinking about doing a manual tranny swap on my 95 type II, and I was wondering. Are there any other 6 spd tranny's out there that I can swap in? Maybe a modded NSX tranny?? =)

93-95 ls coupes came with 6 speed if not im mistaken.

I know, i have no prob with finding a 6 spd legend tranny, but ive driven a 6spd ka8, and i didnt like the feel of the tranny.

Is it possible to mod an NSX tranny to make it fit??

Just go with the 6-spd Leg tranny and upgrade what parts you can. example: short shifter, sport/racing clutch....

And which, before he asks, is NOT possible to swap an NSX engine in a Legend.

Just covering that part while we are ahead.

K.I.S.S. Keep it simple stupid .....

Why go thru so much headache to install a manual transmission and convert and customize all that work for a vehicle your not sure you are going to keep or are afraid of other expensive future repairs. Why not keep it simple and just replace the auto transmission with another similar transmission for like $250-$500 and save a ton of money and headaches. Whats so impressive about a man tranny anyway? As long as the car gets you from point A to point B I think thats more important , keep it cheap and spend your money on other toys.

eh, i've been driving thru stop and go lately in my 4runner, its alot more pita then the legend, but i wouldn't give it up any day.

manual cars are all about the extra control you get of the car. actually more or less total control. You choose when to do what you need. and ofcourse its alot mroe fun to drive.

however, can we drop this NSX bs, i mean its a completely different setup. trans verse engine, the driveshafts don't even face the same directions. either way, its gonna cost a pretty penny.

a manual swap isn't impossible but you def need a bunch of hard to get parts.

its not converting to a manual thats that serious. Its not had as long as you can find a parts car with all parts you'll need. which is not impossible, they do exist. its trying to fit NSX parts to a legend. atleast the parts in question.

Just so you know. The "feel" you didn't like is most likely because the tranny mount was shot as it is on 99.9% of all Legends. Just changed mine night and day difference.
