Hey everyone.....
Last couple weeks i had that clicking i was talking about, but that went away.... seems like it was the "tappet". Anyway, when i rev my engine around 1600 rpm's in neutral i hear a weird rattling sound coming from the engine bay. I know its not the heat shield for the cat, thats a different sound entirely. The noise i hear now is like a clacking, and its annyoing. The engine runs, drives, and idles perfect so i was wondering if any of u have an idea of what this could be. Thanx in advance

Well if i may give my .02 cents. Clacking/rattling you say? either something is loose and it only vibrates at high RPM's or something is caught up someplace, debri i.e. leaves, plastic rapper, twig, wire anything really, just make like detective forcefive and trust me you will find it, get someone to rev the car while you look with a flash light.

My father once had me do this, and we found it. A mm socket my father dropped and forgot in the engine bay.

I know this sounds obvious, but have you checked your oil lately? When I had my Integra and knew nothing about cars(I still don't know very much), I heard what appears to be a similar sound to what you are describing. Got my oil changed, and it went away completely. Reason? I was short about 2 quarts of oil. That sucked! Learned my lesson the hard way about how important oil to an engine really is.
