The changer will work with Bose and Non-Bose systems.

Alpine changers are the only brand that will work in conjunction w/our stock systems. And the alpine changer has to be an "M-Bus" not "Ai-net" changer. The mp3 changer has the option of switching from AI-NET to M-BUS.

So if I want to install the Alpine CHA-S634 6 CD Changer. What else exactly do I need to have everything work in good order? Thanks, I appreciate it
1x Alpine CHA-S634 Changer
1x Peripheral (ACUALP) Alpine to Honda/Acura Adapter
1x Alpine KCA-130B adapter

MC, just followed your lead and installed the CHA-S634 last night....3 minutes well spent! but your right, finding a song out of 200+ is not too fun!

I ordered it through cructchfield.com and they had an open box changer that I picked up, still will full warranty of course

CHA-S634 - 269.96, PIE Acura/Honda to Alpine, 19.99, Alpine KCA-130B, 6.99

easiest Mod ever! now I notice how poor the stock speakers sound though :-(. At least a have a 10" in the trunk to give it a little life

After a while I got the hang of the songs/artist. I find it alot easier to sort the songs by artisit before you burn the CD. That way all the atrist in my CDs are grouped to together.

After the initial hype of having all this capacity, you'll realize you dont want to listen to all those songs all the time. Im still only using 3 out of the 6 cds. Lately, I rather burn just 20-30 songs on a single CD to make it eaily to navigate.

Yeah, my wife took the car to work today, and she was saying the same thing: put about 30 songs/two albums per disk. It took me about 5 blank CD's to get it right. I didn't think I could burn them in folders on the CD, but it turns out you can, which makes the process easier

I've just tried to install the Alpine CHA-S634 in my 93 Legend (Bose head-end). KCA-130B for Ai-Net - MBus, Alpine/Honda adapter, changer set to MBus (position 2). I get very low volume, and a beep every second or so through the speakers. Any ideas?

Thanks for any advice.

ÂżQuestion: is alpine the only brand that will work with the factory bose system? Will a sony mp3 changer (SONY CDX-T70MX) work as well?

That seems strange, how does your system sound w/o the changer? I would try and narrow down the possible problems. You might want to see if you can return the changer and get another one? Or...what sort of cd were u using?

I returned the changer to Circuit City and exchanged for another, same model -- worked perfectly. I can only surmise a problem with the first changer that sent a low signal to the headend, and the headend beeped a warning (every scond or so!) that all was not well.

Very happy with the unit now that it works. CD-DA, CD-R DA, CD-R MP3 all working fine.

Anyone want to sell their CHA-S634 Changer?

Where can I find the other two required adapters? eBay? Anyone have one lying around?

I got the adapters at Circuit City. Not cheap, but available.
How much?
