Hey guys, is there a point getting a muffler if I dont plan on doing exhaust? Or should I just get tips? I was planning on getting a MagnaFlow muffler. Please help me out. Thanks : )

Eventually I would like to do exhaust myself, but I refuse to put any hideous shiney aftermarket exhaust on my car. *No offense to those of you who are RICE!* What I will end up doing is cutting off the factory tips and having them put onto an aftermarket muffler. Just a thought.... are you going for the actual aftermarket look or just in need or replacement?

If you don't like the look of most after market ones then why don't you go with like the Remus. It looks basically like the stock except for shiny and nice. If you don't like the shiny exhaust then you are crazy. Look at all the nice new cars, they all come with chrome exhaust tips. I personally think that the stock exhaust on the legend looks hideous, and just the tips that I threw on mine helped so much.

If I don't do any MAJOR mods to the outside of my car, ie. shaving, etc. I will definately keep the stock appearance of the exhaust. I'm a fan of sleepers. However, if I do go the visual route as well, I will eventually do something for the exhaust but I'm so very picky that it'll take forever to find it.

Thats what I used, MagnaFlows 14830. I love em.

Its a custom job. I did alot of the work on it myself. It ran me around 7-800 when I was all done. But the shop is owned by a friend of mine, He said it would cost alot more if he was to do it again. Its funny, Every time I have someone give me a firm quote for something for my Legend, when there are done with the work they say always say, "That will cost alot more next time", or "Those Legends are tough, I wont do it that cheap again".

I agree. I personally am not crazy about the bigass muffler tips on most custom exhausts. I would much rather keep the stock tips or gets something that look similar. I do like SeaSickLegend's setup but it's probably too elaborate for my budget.

No I did not always have duals, It is a custom mod that I added . I definitely have alot more getup in the upper rpms, It lost a little low end but that will be corrected w/headers I hope.
Yes I did have quite a bit more sound when I first put it on, but a resonator calmed it down, And my sound deadening project that im working on should make it just right.
All in all, It sounds very nice to me, Nice deep sound. Not at all like what a Civic or Integra exhaust would sound like.

ACK! Dude, that shouldn't even be a question that you have to ask... If you put TIPS on your car, you might as well get some WeaponR stickers, underbody Neon, those little light-up washer/wiper hood squirters, and cut your springs... Don't forget the JAMEX and TenzoR stickers...

Just get a muffler or a catback... Jesus Christ... (sorry to be so angry about this, but I live in Savannah, where I see this type of garbage everyday, and if one more ******* in an old Ford Taurus SHO with neon on it, or some stupid kid in a beat up Civic with a big "R" on it revs at me, I'm going to go off! I HATE RICE!!!!!!!!! I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!)

dboogie08: I heard if you get a street edition magnaflow muffler without an exhaust system the sound should only be slightly louder than stock. That's what I'm planning to do.

Im saving for a remus exhaust right now, so I settled for tips for the mean time, about $6 each from kraegan or pep boys(forgot)
