My 6 speed v. Intrepid

I got into an argument with one of my friends and I was really upset. I left her house. Driving quite fast south bound on interstate 5 at 2 am, I notice this intrepid cruising ahead. It didn't look like an ordinary intrepid so when I got close and passed it I noticed it had 2 silver stripes running down the trunk, like you'll see on vipers. It also had custom dual pipe mufflers. I passed him and looked at my rear view mirror, not expecting anything. Then this sucker changed lanes. I knew he was upto something. I slowed down to 75. He quickly got next to me, which then I floored it at 3rd. Immediately I gained 1 car length then soon I could see both of his headlight on my rear view mirror. Then he kept up at 100, 110, 120, then 125. At this point I realized that ain't an ordinary intrepid. I hit 130 then he pulled on me by about car length and a half by 140mph. I was thinking that thing can't be that fast w/o some nos. I raced a stock one long time ago and I took it in 4th gear. Anyways it was cool. :D

Gotta be carefull with those Dodge Decrepids. I heard if you dump $40,000 in performance parts into them they can hang or even beat a 10+yr old family sedan. Watch yourself...
actually they do make an R/T version in the Intrepid, all though its not a huge performer, it has A LOT more torque and a good amount of horsepower more than the base model
Really? I think I saw the R/T sign but not sure. Anyways I seriously doubt that thing can go that fast at high speeds unless if it got some serious mods. That was a surprise though. I was ahead until about 125mph then all the sudden he passed me as if he had a sudden surge of boost.
hey that what those R/T's are like. the R/T was designed to be a small scale viper engine (of course not the same power ratings but you get what im saying) i know they top out at around 137 i believe, and they can be easily given another 60hp with about 2000

was he juicing ?

From my point of view he was definitely juicing. If he didn't then he could definitely smoke an m3 easily, which I highly doubt w/o some nos. He was pulling on me the same way my buddy's M3+70shot nos did. If he wasn't using nos that means he had crazy mods to his engine which probably means he probably would slowly gain on me at high speeds instead of suddenly passing me starting at 125mph.
Cheesous those are some serious speeds at which he was gaining on you?! I first read subject... I thought to myself... ain't no way a stock intrepid could ever talk smack on a Legend. My question is... should I have to look for some R/T badging off the line?

LOL!!!!!!
you definantly should.. even though the itrepid is heavy as hell.. its got a miniature model o the v-10 used in the vipe (scaled version) lots and lots of torque

stock,it would probably keep with the legend or maybee lose like by a nose or half a car length

The slowest G2 Legend turns the 1/4 in 16.1, the fastest Decrepid (2002 model @ 244hp and 250lb/tq) turns 16.5. As long as you have your handbrake off you'll win with any stock G2 Legend. Now with a G1 Legend I believe the slowest G1 is 16.5 as well. So the 2002 Decrepid has a better chance against a 13+ yr old Legend, but still only a small chance.
i could have swore they were faster than that .. ? i raced one in my sebring and it tore me up
I think the intrepid comes stock in two engine types - and now I'm hearing of this R/T badged one. Does that V-10 unit have a triptronic trans or cause even a roll on could turn out bad.

Hurleysurf24, correct me if I am wrong but sebring's (when gunned) sound like a lot of muffled air and no get up and go. A friend of mine wanted to show off by punching the accelerator and I remember thinking.... did you just try to accelerate.
yep the sebring sounds great through first gear, and then an hour later it hits sixty, grrr what was chrysler thinking? 200bhp which probably is only pushing 160 to the wheels... with a 3600 lb car (somwhere aroun there ?)

i think my sebring was mid to high 17's in quarters... so disappointing considering mercedes teamed up with them. Would have been nice to have some AMG parts on there or even a clk320 engine in there :D :D :D

When will chrysler ever get their act together ???
