My new cf hood

I just got my car painted together with my cf hood. Fitment is pretty good except I had to move my drivers side fender inward a bit to make gap even with other side. Also as you can tell from some of the pics, hood pops up a bit on drivers side meaning its not flush with fender but not really noticeable in person unless your looking at it from hood level. I'm getting my grill and washer nozzels painted flat black for the time being. I just wanted to show off my hood for now but will be updating this thread as I continue to mod my coupe. All black interior will be next, then wheels, then BB kit, etc, etc...

Opinions good or bad are welcome.

Jose

Your car would look awesome with a full carbon-fiber hood. I don't think that that little section exposed in the middle looks good at all.

I'm not trying to be a dick, just thought you'd want my honest opinion.

Totally disagree. I think the CF hood pattern looks great! I was thinking of such a masking for a paintjob on a coupe and this has convinced me that it would look pretty nice. Vineyard Gray, right? How much for the entire paintjob and what type of shop did it? :2cool:

yeah

Okay, the paint job on the hood is what i was thinking of doing on mine when i go CF.....But it only looks good with certain paint schemes. Yours doesn't work unless you had more black somewhere else. So paint mirrors black and go with gunmetal or black rims, and paint inner headlight housing black..Have Cole do a photoshop for u to give an idea of what i mean or anything else.

Other wise it looks okay.

Gerald: Thanks man, appreciate it. M5's coming pretty soon after camber kit and possibly a Big Brake kit. Not too sure of sound deadener anymore as I'm trying to save some weight, but it might go in my GS.

Slick: most definitely appreciate honest opinions. I had the hood on for like a week unpainted but I wasn't satisfied. I like my color scheme alot and it just felt like a big void being that the hood is the biggest and most noticeable panel too me. I'm really satisfied with the outcome. :D

go92legend: Thanks! Paintjob cost me 3k with a total stripdown of all parts possible and then reshot to the original color vineyard grey with some pearl added.

swift: Thanks man. I got some one-piece headlights that I'll be retrofitting some projecters as I did with my GS and was thinking of partially painting the bezels black but still unsure.

91LSMAN: Hey thanks, that means alot coming from the detail king.:) :D

bboarder: thanks! more pics coming, as soon as I get more stuff done to it... I'm just getting started. :2cool:

Khoerling: Body man was who moved the fender over to close the gap. I'm assuming though you just loosen all screws attached and just push it over being careful not to dealign it from the door. How is fitment with your cf hood? Your car is looking good by the way...job well done

Perzian: I think it's possible to use weather stripping but gap is not that bad as it looks.

Yeah, I figured as much.
I don't see how it's possible to move the fender closer
w/o ruining alignment elsewhere.

The fit of my hood is decent. I've got a slight driver's side
gap, like you mentioned. To make up for that I attempted to drill
out the hood mounts and center the hood, but didn't drill far enough,
so the gap remains.

Who manufactured your hood?

Now that you mention it, I remember now that he too drilled out the mounting holes on the hood to help close gap with fender.

I got my hood from VIS/GTP with the help of Mark(Legendtoo).

why are the coupe hoods less expesnive than the legend sedans? do the sedans have that the gap complication as well?
I wish the to sedan CF hoods were cheap as the coupes.
Where did you hear that? I guess it depends where you get it and who makes it but mine wasn't cheap and I'm not complaining though because quality seems good.
