hey, guys i had decided to sell my legend and go buy a new (to me) car...but i DIDN'T. So i was on craigslist.com and i was browsing so i typed in acura legend and one popped up for an 87 coupe w/ bad manual trans $200. I checked it out at the guys house (which happend to be two streets behind mine) now shes sittin in my driveway

im going to pull the motor and trans
the motor is getting a new tm belt and w pump and the leak fixed
the trans; im going to determin the prob and see if i can fix it

im gunna go to the j/y and gunna get a window motor assembly and the interior peices that i need (switches, plastic stuff, etc)

I'm just curious, what is wrong with the trans. Cause my old 87 Coupe had the Manual go out on it. Maybe it's a flaw in the 87 Coupe Trannies

Well im hoping it just the throw out bearing because it make a grinding noice when the clutch is NOT depressed also it has NO reverse and it shakes when driving (ive only gotten it to 3rd gear) but ill find out when i pull it all out! :vomit:

If you're pulling the motor you might as well set it up so you can use the spin on oil filter. Looks nice...

yah i forgot totally about that good thing i have an extra spin on from my 88 legend swap pew thank God

Hey man nice ride! Looks to be in pretty good shape!

Yeah Id say check out the TO bearing and the clutch assembly itslef as well as the syncs and their respective assemblies (you sound knowledgable enough in this area)...

As far as the shaking/vibrating...check the engine and tranny mounts...

The motor is almost out today it should be out tomarro but i got a big suprize today When i was removing they front plastic sheild that goes under the radiator and motor i got my first good look at the trans. Well there is a hole the size of the diameter of a water bottle and you can see the gear and no lube. So does anyone know if it can be patched if the internals of the trans are ok.

this is not something you're going to want to patch...something had to go really wrong inside for it to blow out like that. Either that or some one was off roading it and hit a rock? In either case you might want to look for a new trans.

Yah i guess im gunna have to break out the checkbook
