I have a Sony DVP-F5 Portable DVD player, I'm using it in my car with an invertor. It's uses a 10V input but all the universal car adapter can only adjust 3,6,9,12 V. Do you think I can use it at 9v and it'll still play safe? the sony car adapter is like 80 bucks I don't feel like spending all that on a car adapter. please help thanks.

The 9 volt should work. But, it may turn off after a few minutes, or when it's trying to read a track. Check Radio Shack for 10 volt adapters.

nothing else to say except try it. Just watch to make sure that the portable DVD player doesn't overheat or you'll be using the warranty if you have one. Good luck.
