It looks like OEM fitment. Perfect as if it came with the car.
Thanks. It would be better if it fit further back, however.
How much did you pay for them or how much are they going for? I might be interested. Also Does it come with the dash kit?
Won't give my price, but they are going for a good bit less than retail ($1200). Installer provided the dash kit (Metra).

Last question :) but would they happen to fit for the sedans?
Uhh, err .... mine is a sedan.

Wow that looks sweet nice pics. It looks really close to the shifter when it is in park does it ever touch the shifter?

Anyways frantinez I got an idea for you. I saw a scion T ? (whatever the car model letter may be) don't know if you have ever seen the dash. It has like a 1.5 din HU. I was quiet impressed. The HU was installed a little further than norm. So it looks a little sunk inward, but then it has a plastic swing door attached to the very top. So you can swing up the little door when using the HU and swing it back down shut when not using the HU. It totally looks like it is a storage bin. You would never think there is a HU in there.

Dude I wish I would have had my camera I would have taken a pic. just try to notice a parked scion the little sports car I think T is the model number, and look in it. If I see another scion around I will post a pic. I think you will be impressed and you will probably go with something like that. Oh wait actually I have another option My girl has a little Toyota Corolla that has a storage bin that resembles my example of what I saw on the Scion. She is on her way home; I will snap a quick pic to give an example, but just if you happen to see a scion take the effort to glance inside.

Oh shit now that this got bump I just remembered I was suppose to provided a pic??? My bad, I didn't register to this thread and lost it and forgot for that matter. when my ol lady gets here I will take a pic of the door I was trying to illustrate(sp?). If not I think one of the neighbor here bought a scion I'll go see if I can take a pic of the hidden radio unit.

what unit sits flush? i dont want something sticking out, i am in the market for a screen too, but want a near perfect fit.
THats going to be touch to ask, only because most screens stick out anyway. Like with the kenwood, its not because of how we mounted it that it sticks out, its the way the din is configured. Most video screen faces of the dvd units are thicker then regular radios, so asking for one that sits more flush would mean asking for one with a thinner screen.

So it doesn't matter if you get one of those metra kits, the screen will still stick out?
edit: sorry I guess you answered my question in another thread

the metra kits will fuck up the install if anything. I say mount it like the way the bose was mounted, no kit needed. I saw pics of takemorepills install, it was clean!!
OK. So let's get specific. AFAIK Metra doesn't make a double DIN kit, at least not for our (or related) applications. The installer who did mine had to cut the middle segment out (others have done this as well). The problem is not the Metra kit. Contrary to the implication above, the Bose OEM unit and the IVA-W200 are really different depths. The only way to mount the Alpine unit flush is to do some major surgery on the rear framework to which the unit mounts. You nearly have to remove all of it and frabicate or eliminate the rear mount. This will, of course, work, but you lose some structural integrity in the mounting.

Now if takemorepills has the IVA-W200 and has it mounted flush, my hat is off to him. If it's another unit (I thought he had the Kenwood), its apples to oranges unless they have the same depth.

YMMV.

This "swing door" comes stock on all scion TC models.

Here are more pics to help you guys out. I think if it was back about 1/2 inch more a cover would fit nicely.
This is using the metal sleeve that comes included WITHOUT the metra kit. I got a custom trim out of abs plastic made. It looks better than before without cutting anything or doing a lot of custom work. I still wish it was more flushed.

Quick question, I have the IVA-D310. The files in the link you provided, do they work via i-Personalize? Thanks!
