I'm buying the parts to have my timing belt (and the usual other belts, water pump, etc.) changed.

Does anyone know what gaskets/seals should be replaced during this procedure? My best understanding is that front cam and crank seals should be replaced. Any more?

Also, are there other components I would be wise to replace when these things are done?

How much are you willing to spend and how many miles is on the car? Other then your cam and crank seals, i'd also replace your oil cooler seal and lines since you will have the front cover off which makes it easier to do. I'd also replace your t-belt tensioner, although on these cars they don't go "bad" often.. they do tend to make noise after awhile. You might also take a look at your crank angle sensor ( under the front cam sprocket ) and if it looks melted, it would be a good time to replace also. Can't think of anything else right now.. maybe others can shed more light on it..

Nick, are you a mechanic, by any chance?

I've got 143k miles; I am willing to spend because I LOVE this car and it's in great shape. Brakes, A/C, and suspension are also slated for restoration. New tires, too. I will likely spend $2500 by the time I buy all the parts and pay my able mechanic his share (I know I could save by doing some myself, but this is not realistic in my case, so I'm saving what I can by buying my own parts).

I am moving soon from South Florida to Manhattan (where it will be garaged, but where getting it serviced will be a ***** so I want to take care of as much as I can now).

I had planned to replace the tensioner, and I had heard that the crank angle sensor housing can melt, so that's a good idea. The rest of your advice is very much appreciated.

Any idea where I can buy the crank angle sensor/housing (other than Acura of Augusta)? I know this is not a common item.

Leave the cam and crank seals alone. Replace the tensioner and water pump, only replace the crank angle sensor if you get a code.
Since 88 I've never seen a cam or front crank seal leak.

I'm more of a DIY now. No longer work in that field but PSA is one of our resident acura techs so you might want to follow his advice. As for myself the seals dont' cost that much so i figure you might as well change them while they are accessible. As for the crank angle sensor, I have seen a few go out. It's a $100 part ( online discount or wholesale discount price ) I did not replace it on my car.. but ended up having to replace it 2 years later when it went out on me. I've also had to replace a few others, you don't have to remove the belt to do it, so if you are a DIY you can wait till it gives you a code... but if you're going to have to pay someone to do it later on down the road.. it could be more cost effective to do now.
