i'm thinking ahead to when my baby's heart actually dies (god forbid hopefully in a while) and i was wondering if anybody knew if it was possible to drop in and swap a newer generation acura engine TL/RL/CL and sporshift tranny into our legends....is it possible? does anybody know how much that would run...or would it be much easier to do a Type I/Type II swap, what would all of you recommend? thanks for the input!

depends on your pockets....

I would never say it isnt possible to do a swap....if you have the cheddar, you can do what you want.

Now, a Type II swap is more str8forward than a TL/CL/RL swap.
In addition to motor and tranny you need ECU, motor mounts, cluster, and might as well do your 60/90k on it

First off, the RL is 210hp, and if not mistaken, tranverse mounted. Not worth it IMO.
TL/Cl are tranverse mounted as well...
TLP is 225, TLS 260...maybe worth it, but the yhave tranny problems on the tranny AND do not run on the highway like the Legend does...
CL same thing

So, if you want to be the first to be known for doing the swap, go for it. Give me a Type II any day
