New engine.

So, It's been awhile guys. Sadly, that's because I sold my legend because I was having so many problems with it, with the over-heating. While losing my job I couldn't afford to keep attempting to fix the problem, Although... The problem was a constant mystery. I replaced the Air intake (Random) as-well as the Water pump, radiator, hoses, temp gauge, and also rebuilt the entire top end of the engine. I gave up. Sold it.. :snipe:

Now, that I have a steady job again and I have a sufficient amount of income coming back in, I currently own a 2001 Mustang GT, yes, I'm 18, yes, I'm a car enthusiast. I don't care about this "Muscle vs Import" stuff, I could honestly care less.

I'm coming back to purchase another Acura legend, 2nd gen. I loved this car. There's nothing I would change about it. Besides power. I'm also a speed junky. I'm not about wreck-less driving though. More or less about Highway pulls (0-80) and the drag-strip here in Houston.

I'm looking for a 3.5L motor for this car, preferably something I could get in there without too much trouble. I'm going to purchase a car that already had a type2 in there, but I want something new. Durable. Something I KNOW I can rely on before going into the modification process. I have someone down here that races professionally and builds muscle cars, they are in my mind "Master Mechanics". They are going to help me build a turbo kit, I want to make sure I have a sturdy engine, that will stand strong to AT-LEAST 500 HP. I'm trying to get a build list going so I can get a complete price for what I'm going to be looking at as far as
  • Re-paint
  • new engine
  • Custom turbo
  • Transmission
  • Suspension
  • Fuel Injectors
  • Exhaust.

Note, I'm just trying to find out where to get an engine that I can trust, I am hoping someone can help me out with that. This isn't going to be my DD, it's going to be a project car, although I want to keep the original motor if at all possible, as it's one of the strongest v6 motors I've seen for the price.
It's hard to find anything used that might not have issue's. The best you can do is purchase one with a warranty. Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market is where some members have bought resonable priced 3.5's.

I would stay away from jdmtigerjapanese.com, members have had issues with them.
