Acura-Legend.com :: Acura Legend Forum :: Acura RL Forum and it's owners, operators, moderators, or administrators are not responsible for any transactions, or any actions of it's members in this forum whatsoever!

Anyone choosing to conduct any sort of transaction with another member on A-L.COM does so at their own risk and expense.

As individuals, you need to take responsibility for your own actions, and you need to take responsibility for the fact you are dealing with strangers on the internet. Acura-Legend.com is not a professional Sales service.. and is provided free and without any kind of warranty. We also will not ban people because you claim they ripped you off.

The mods and admins of Acura-Legend.com expect that anyone posting in Buy & Sell have read and understood the following rules. Buy & Sell is a mature place where business transactions take place. Failure to abide by the rules will result in your posts being deleted, or possibly you being banned. It is worth your time to read these rules if you value your account.

These rules are universal and apply to every person and business posting in Buy & Sell.

Posting Guidelines:
General Tips on making posts in Buy & Sell.
Buy and Sell is a place of business. If you expect someone to deal with you, use professional courtesy. Avoid using Internet shorthand (abbreviations like "u", leet speak, AOL talk like "soz", anything that makes you look twelve years old when you post it). Before posting, click 'preview post' and read your post over.

1. Post to Appropriate Sections: All ads must be posted to their appropriate sections. Do not post an ad for the same item in more than one section.
2. Provide DETAILED Descriptions: Ads must include detailed information on what is being sold. Other than ads for the parting out of complete cars, no vague ads such as "parts for sale - e-mail with requests." For a car sale, you should include: VIN #, Year, mileage, exterior color, interior color, modifications, location, maintenance info (e.g. "timing belt replaced at 90k miles" or "needs tires soon"), crash repair or salvage title history, any extras included, and asking price.
3. Asking Price Required: This is not an auction site. You must list a price at which you will sell all cars and normal parts. If you don't know the value, search around previous ads or on eBay. You can add "or best offer" but you must be willing to sell for the asking price. If you want to hold an auction, please use an auction service such as eBay. Linking to off site ads like on ebay is allowed only if the on site ad provides details as specified in these rules. Ads linking to ebay listings must include your starting bid and/or "Buy it Now" price.
4. Be Responsive: Provide good contact information and timely responses to people inquiring about your ad. If the moderators receive complaints that you are not responding to inquiries, your ad will be removed until you contact the moderator.
5. VIN Numbers Required: To help prevent fraud, you must list the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) in your ad for all cars for sale or being parted out. If you have a unique situation such as a non-US car with no VIN or a car where the true VIN is not known, contact a moderator before listing the vehicle. You may optionally include a Carfax report in addition to listing the VIN.
6. Subject Line: Please use a title that simply describes the content of your ad, such as "FS: 1994 Legend LS Coupe". Do not use ALL CAPITAL LETTERS or special characters like *** or !!! to try to draw attention to your ad. Do not put anything in the title of your ad that you might want to change later such as asking price; you cannot edit the subject of an ad once posted.
7. 30-Day Bump Rule: Do not reply to an ad just to bump it up higher in the list more than once every 30-days. Such "bump" messages will be deleted. Repeated "bumps" will result in the ad being deleted. Include all your photos and full details for what is being sold in your original message. If you forget something, you can edit your original message to add it.

Responses:
Effective immediately, all responses to Marketplace listings must be conducted through PM and/or email.

Multiple Accounts:
Do not attempt to make multiple accounts to make yourself look good. We are watching. (note: multiple account syndrome is bannable)

Starting & Maintaining Your Thread:
Post all of your items for Buy, Sell or Trade in the same thread! Extra threads will be closed or merged. DO NOT start a new thread with "mods close my old threads" in the title. It is an annoyance and a hassle for us to find all your old threads. You should only ever have one thread active at one time. If you do not respond to anybody's questions or concerns within a week, the thread will be deleted.

All posts MUST have the following at the beginning of the thread title:

WTB (want to buy)
WTT (want to trade)
FS (for sale)

There's no need to post the words in parenthesis. Threads will be automatically deleted from now on if this is not included in your thread title. This saves a lot of time when somebody is searching to buy or sell a part.

New Registered users will not be able to post an ad in this section: Updated: 4/17/06
Users with less than 50 posts or less than 6 months of membership are restricted from posting ads in the marketplace. Please do not complain about it, it's there for your protection.

Any questions, comments, or complaints should be directed to your local moderator or administrator.

Have a good day.

UPDATE 1-19-06: It has come to my attention that people are offering something for sale at a certain price, and then trying to get more out of the item after somebody has offered to buy it. I realize that everybody wants to get as much money as possible, but that is considered bad business practices, and you should sell it to the first person that offers to buy it for your price, and you should stick to your price. Anybody practicing this type of transaction on a regular basis will be banned from the Marketplace.

Something else you guys (and gals) should be doing with all transactions is getting a contact phone number, and an address, even if you're paying with paypal. Call the other person to verify the phone number. Don't be scared, we're all friends here.
