in that sparkplugs website, if i want the identical senors, how would i know which to get? there is one for the left and the right, so which do i choose
Doesn't matter. If you look closely you'll see they are the same NGK part number.
They should have labeled them front/rear probably.

EDIT: 24033 is the one you want. Just replace both at the same time.

I just ordered an NGK OE identical O2 sensor (check engine light comes on after a while, ECU throws code 1) from sparkplugs.com. With shipping to Europe, customs fee (3.5% of item + shipping value) and swedish VAT (25% of item and shipping value) it will cost me $107 but a Honda/Acura original O2 sensor costs twice here so I'm still making a good deal.

Wow! That is crazy!
Hopefully it doesn't take weeks to get there, right?

Any winter pics of your car?

thats not terrible if they are the direct fit ones. if they are universal on the other hand, WOW!

No, it's shipped with FexEd international economy, estimated time is less than a week. I don't need it until Feb 10 when I'm going home to the car (I'm a college student and the car is back home).

Winter pics? Yes, I have a few but they were not very good when I checked them on the computer, a bit unsharp. But I will put the best ones up soon. The winter tires are on the original rims (which unfortunately are a bit corroded by salt from previous winters).

$214 is what a genuine Honda/Acura O2 sensor from the local dealer costs here. A universal fit NGK/NTK O2 sensor (same as on sparkplugs.com) is $68 from a local car parts store and a Bosch universal sensor is $96. Observe that these prices are for one sensor, not a pair. [Removed erroneus info, see below]

So, why do I bother to order an O2 sensor from the other side of the Atlantic? Well, I want to avoid the hassle about splicing the cable because if you do it wrong you could spoil the function of the O2 sensor. It needs air reference which is taken through the cable. This means the length of the cable (acts as a calibration of the sensor) and the type of connection must be right. And second, there are no custom fit O2 sensors for the Legend available here (except the expensive genuine Honda parts of course).

Maybe I should add that the swedish currency is quite strong compared to the dollar at the moment which push the figures up a bit. 1 USD = 7 SEK (Swedish krona) at the moment, it use to be around 8,5 SEK per USD. And back in 2000 it was about 10 SEK per USD. :patriot:

correction , the reason you have 2 O2 sensors is for each bank of the engine. it detects whats happening between the 2 banks to regulate the Air/Fuel ratio and to keep it as close as possible to what it wants to be. If our cars did have a catalist effecentcy O2 sensor, we would have 3 O2's.

Shame on me. I looked again in the online manual and of course there are one sensor in each manifold. But the ECU only throws code 1 so the rear sensor is still good.

But thanks for telling me!
I think I will call sparkplugs.com to see if they can add another sensor to my order if I need to replace the other one later. I haven't got any shipping message yet.

EDIT: YES! I just called them and the order wasn't shipped yet so I got it changed to two sensors. So now I get a pair of sensors for $125.

I wouldn't feel so bad, 1990Legend_LS knows just about everything.
