Oil dash light mystery

Today I was driving to class and (if anyone is from around Wilm,de) I took the 202 on ramp to 95 south to go into wilmington to get to del tech and I took it at probably 55-60. Right in the middle of the turn the oil dash light came on for the duration of the turn and then when I started to straighten out again it went off and didn't come on again. Maybe it just popped on cuz I took the turn too fast and the force pulled the oil away from the sensor? Idk... just looking for confirmation and/or theories for why this might've happened...

Check the oil level and condition ASAP, an oil starved engine will lead to the death of said engine.
How often do we need to change our oil for legends? I just did it like a year ago. The oil light is blinking now btw. I'll change the oil after work today, I still have some driving to do before then. Do you think I can do more driving today w/o doing any damage?
WoW! I'm just blown away...... The oil is supposed to be changed every 3/months or 3,000 miles (which ever comes first.) synthetic can go another 2-3k depending on driving conditions.

I'd change that oil ASAP your waaaaay over due.
Do I HAVE to change the oil filter every time I change the oil? I'm a broke college student and gas is blowing all my money away. Just the 3 bottles of oil is like $15 right? I really wanna fix this legend up but it's my daily driver so I can't really do any maintenance that immobilizes me for more than a day. Can I change out the carpet in a day?

Hi like BIGBOY said the legends oil suppose to be changed every 3 months. I use Castrol Synthetic Oil at Walmart for about 32 that fills the engine and usually add one more quart for the oil filter. I have to check on the oil depending how i am driving and its distance. A year not changing oil will bring dire consequence.
I'm glad I said something! I drive it pretty hard :/ I just love getting sucked into the seat lol so I'll change the oil and filter asap. You guys think legends like synthetic better? Just so I know what I'm getting. I'd much rather have quality over saving a few bucks.
Just to clarify:

1. Acura recommended in 1991 to change oil and filter every 7,500 miles or 6 months, which ever comes first.
2. That recommendation is based on oil quality in 1991, which has improved greatly since.
3. The 3,000 miles or 3 months is a recommendation from the 60's which all oil change shops like to keep going!
call me old fashioned but I'd never go six months without an oil change. I also do mostly short trips and stop and go.

The OP said he likes to drive hard so you shouldn't go that long either. I'm no scientist or engineer but these all the rules. I was raised to follow.

Also please make sure you change the oil filter with every oil change. All the trash and sludge is caught in the filter. If you don't change your filter all that garbage is getting recirculated.
I thought it seemed to soon. I'll change it out just to be safe though. Thanks for the input guys.

The other day i done the valve cover gaskets and noticed that the rockers looked clean looked like gold. No oil deposits, gunk that usually find in most vehicles. I keep it running like new so i also change my oil 3-months time.
