aight, i want a 7894 to replace my pioneer p840. im getting bored w/ it and i hear the alpines better. However, the 7894 needs 10 gauge wire, that doesnt come w/ it, right???

since i already have 10 gauge wiring going to my amp in the trunk, do i need a spliter or anything or can i can just attach another 10 gauge wire on the terminal, next the one one i already have on the battery.

this is going to suck; it took me 30 minutes to drill a hole in my g1 coupe to get that first 10 gauge wire through the firewall. grrrrrr

Not sure about the G1, but on the G2 interior fuse box there are a few black spaces for future OEM items like foglights or whatever. In the G2 case, there was a black conector slot with metal prongs, and an appropriate black fuse slot. For one of my higher current applications, I connected my wire (10 gauge in your case) to the connector slot, and put in the appropriate size fuse. The fuse completes the circuit. Keep in mind, on the G2 there was a choice. Either ACC power (Only powered when the IGN is turned on), or BAT power (Constant 12V+ power). Choose the appropriate one. If the G1 has these black slots, that I would use this method instead of running a new wire through the firewall. Since the Alpine power wire has its own fuse, I would intall either the same sixe fuse in the fuse panel, or 1 higher (If it is 7.5A for the Alpine, use either the same 7.5, or maybe a 10A). I wouldn't go any higher than that though.

GET THE 7894, I just bought it and it is amazing. Its got so many great features and you can tweak it until your fingers hurt. the ability to turn off the internal amp and to black out the deck to get more power to it, and who could ignore the MP3 player, the list goes on!!! If you get this HU you wony be disapointed.
