been online dating roughly 2 years. It aint for everybody and some of the chicks are well.................just weird...I have walked out on a lot of dates and left them..payed my half only of the tab and bailed. But my newest GF/Fiance...we met online...chatted and the progressed to regular messenger to phone and now about ready to move in together...and I love her to pieces...so there is pluses to it...but you have to be rational and go in with a completey open mind and be ready for ANYTHING!!! Thats the key there.

I don't see how it could be any weirder than going to a bar, people huddling with their mass of friends (or, worse, mingling alone), awkwardly approaching someone they might be interested in, dealing with the instantaneous assessment, throwing out a pick-up line, yada yada yada. We have to meet people in order to procreate, right?

:giggle:

word internet takes that funniness out of the equation.

But it hurts both ways...

Last time i "Internet dated" girl lied to me:giggle: "I've lost 60lbs since that picture"

met her in person, the first thing i thought was "F*CK that 60lbs had LoJack...it found her ass:vomit:"

but aside from the akwardness if you meet someone nice enough, it can work...matter of fact, i know two people who met through THIS forum and are living together...NOOO i wont tell who!:D

EDIT:

Funny thing is, there's actually a site for just "hookups" it kinda made me giggle, like "that's sad"...then I thought "hey, i dont have to get my fresh clothes on, my :frenchie:smirk straight, my teeth gleaming...all i gotta do is sit down at the computer and spit e-game to some chick and if all is well....easy, free booty?"

Intriguing:smokin:

I hear for REAL compatibility dating eHarmony.com is something to check out.

A mutual friend introduced me and my wife over AIM.

I've done it and I actually liked it. I had used AOL Personals (when i actually had AOL), YAHOO and some other ones. I thought it was weird at first but I've got to meet a lot of good people this way and although I have a fiance now, I still have many good friends because of the online dating.

Not to get into a long story but I actually met my current (wife-to-be) because of online dating. I met a girl (about 6 years ago) through AOL and we didn't have the chemistry (for dating) but we became good friends. She started to introduce me to her friends and that's how I found my woman. :D

There is a ton of sites out there bro...

www.Mate1.com

www.seaoflove.com

www.true.com

yahoo personals

www.match.com

AOHell has a couple different ones as I recall......

I met my current through Mate1 and we are real damn happy...in fact heading to her place right now so the kids can go swimming and we get to see each other before I head out of town for work again.

I have had the in the past experience of Bang&Olufsen....chick claimed to be better than she was....I walked in...said "Oh HELL NO!!" and walked right back out, have had a few where its just a sex hookup...nothing more, nothing less....in fact one girl I went to her place about 11 oclock at night...did my thing...left and havent seen or heard from her since...

You have to be choosy though....right out exactly what your looking for, what your interests are, etc.....and if the girl cant match what you are looking for...then dont waste your time...but there is alot out there.

and for personal reference..............eHarmony sucks balls. Been there like year and maybe a half...havent met one person through there at all...no matches whatsoever...got boring fast

eHarmony is based upon a complex matching system developed through extensive research with married couples. One of the requirements for successful matching is that participants fall within certain defined profiles. If we find that we will not be able to match a user using these profiles, we feel it is only fair to inform them early in the process.

We are so convinced of the importance of creating compatible matches to help people establish happy, lasting relationships that we sometimes choose not to provide service rather than risk an uncertain match.

Unfortunately, we are not able to make our profiles work for you. Our matching model could not accurately predict with whom you would be best matched. This occurs for about 20% of potential users, so 1 in 5 people simply will not benefit from our service. We hope that you understand, and we regret our inability to provide service for you at this time.
Damn! Why do I have to be the 1/5 that isn't compatible with anyone. LMAO :giggle:

Worth a shot. :p So I guess online dating isn't for me!

Napoleon Dynamite: Stay home and eat all the freakin' chips, Kip.
Kip: Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes all day. Besides, we both know that I'm training to be a cage fighter.
Napoleon Dynamite: Since when, Kip? You have the worst reflexes of all time.
Kip: Try and hit me, Napoleon.
Napoleon Dynamite: What?
Kip: I said come down here and see what happens if you try and hit me.

2nd, that had me crackin up.

I met my current g/f (2.5 years) through friends, but we talked both online and offline before we started dating. The internet(serious business) is a common part of communication today. E-dating is just another extension of that. I mean, people post crap to build an e-penis, why shouldnt there be edating.

:type:+:couple:/:boink:=:nono: :rofl:

Internet dating is cool. All these people hooking up on Myspace, and all the perfect match ads on TV... Personally I like bars, clubs, etc. But I've been on a few dates that resulted from chatting online.

most people looking at my profile would just write me off as obvious jailbait who lied about his age
