Oversize wheels and tires on a 1990 Acura L

Hi,

I am a noobie, first post. I just bought a 1990 sedan, 5 Sp., regular Legend. It had low miles of 120,000. It is pretty clean and I want to make it a DD and a fun car.

But there is one thing I do not like. The previous owner installed over sized wheels, they are 6 spoke or whatever they are called, and 18 inch 235/35/18 Capitol brand tires. So I guess the wheels would be 18 inch or 19 inch. Is that right? I have noticed that the ride is rough and it just feels different than my old DD car ( a 1998 Toyota Avalon with standard wheels and tires ).

What are the effects of oversize wheels and tires like these ( other than cosmetic ). I am thinking of looking for someone local to trade with. My over sized wheels and tires for standard Legend wheels and tires. I am in Houston, Tx.

Would that make the car run a lot more like a normal factory 1990 Legend? Anything else anyone can think of? When I learn how, I will post pictures.

Welcome to the forum, I'd post a ad on CL/craigslist in your area for oem wheels plus $$$ for your 18's.

Thanks, I am in Houston and will do that.

Do you know if the wheels and tires for a 1990 and 1991 legend are interchangeable. The 1991 takes a 205/60R15 91V tire and the 1990 takes a 205/60VR15 and the wheels look identical in pictures.

If I found a set of OEM tires and wheels for a 1991 Legend, do you think they would go right on a 1990?

Thanks
your welcome, nope in 91 the lugs went from 4x114.3 to 5x114.3
your welcome. I'm sure somebody will jump at the chance to upgrade from stock.
