was that caused by a bad install, or just mfg defect? If so, maybe THEY should replace it free of charge +shipping. (when I say they, I mean the mfg)
If that did happen, What would the damage have been? When I first got my konis and saw that the pearch was just supported my these little rings/clips I didnt have a good feeling. And when i took my Koni and H&R out to change change to the upper pearch, It was pretty easy to take that ring off and put it on the upper pearch.LegendGS said:No idea, but I'm guessing bad install. That sux. Fortunately, the perch didn't fall out from under the spring.![]()
I never personaly heard of any case where the ring came off. Also, Koni is not the only manufacture to use that type of clip and groove adjustment. Even Bilstein uses it I believe.SeaSickLegend said:

Im just wondering if it is possible for these rings to slip out. Or dose this never happen?
I know this thread is old but, The front konis have the perch built into them? That little ring in the middle of the struts is how you set the front perch, correct?LegendGS said:Well, in my attempt to investigate my car's noises, I took my left front strut out and found that the perch seat for the Koni (that small ring that sits in either of the two ridges to set the perch height) was not seated, and had been barely hanging on by an edge. It was all twisted and stretched. When I compressed my spring a enough to take the weight off of the perch, the seat fell right out; along with the perch and spring.
It took some doing, but I worked it back into shape and set it back in.
It's holding fine now, but anyone know if I can get a replacement ring for the perch setting?
No, that litting metal ring is on the rear strut, and the chrome lower perch that koni provides sits on this ring. The ring itself sits on adjusable C clips that attach to the stut body. As for the front, it uses the same C clip adjustment, however, you ned to reuse your OEM lower perch and brake bracket from the OEM strut. It is just slipped onto the OEM strut, so hitting it with a mallot allows the perch to slide off the OEM strut. Installation of the front lower perch is like the rear and sits on the ring and clip.CakeDaddy said:
