After my friend helped me install my alarm system, my automatic steering wheel tilt no longer works when I insert and remove the key like it used to. I can still move it around using the buttons...and when I use the memory settings...it moves...but not automatically when I insert/remove the key...

Could this be a blown fuse by chance? If so...has anyone come across this before and know where the fuse is?

Thanks,

Wow, I'm glad I'm not the only one that had that problem! I just got my Compustar installed by a friend of mine that works at a car audio shop and the same thing happend. He thought it might be a pinched wire, but I will try disconnecting the battery...hopefully that works.

i had the same problem...i tried disconnecting the battery like LegendGS said..but than it stop working again...all u need is a single throw single pole relay and some wire to connect that to the wire that control the automatic steering tilt......i cant remember the exact direction but i will find out tonight and post an answer asap
The thing is...my friend installed the alarm...and he is across the country right now...so I hope the relay thing works and it's easy enough that I can do myself.

Thanks for the info.

Take your time 92 Legend POS....I have gone this long without it...I think I can wait a little longer :)

Just one of those things that isn't a necessity, but it cool to have because its a plush feature of our beautiful cars....

No tilt, EVER...

Am I right in finding that my 93 Sedan L does NOT HAVE TILT? It has telescope, but I cannot find a way to tilt the **** wheel...! This car has every option except heated seats available, but I cannot find a way to tilt my wheel! Telescope works...

I am also still waiting for "92 sedan POS" to post the directions for the relay he said would fix the alarm/tilt problem! I messaged him about a month ago and haven't heard anything. If anyone hears from him let him know to post those directions if he could.

sorry guys for waiting so long
heres a way to bypass the automatic tilt/telescope steering wheel for remote start.....you will need some wires and a SPST (single throw single pole) relay...u can probably find it at any automotive shop....well i drawn a lil diagram of what u have to do hopefully u can understand it....the blue/white wire is pair with a black wire right under your ignition key hole.....there are several pair of wires down there.....but i think only one is blue/white ....i used one of the wire from my alarm system for the positive source....
hopefully this will help.......if u have any question....just post here and ill try to answer the best i can

in case the picture doesnt show up....heres the direction.....take a wire and connect it to the blue/white wire...on the other end of the wire connect it to 87 on the relay......86 goes to a positive source.....30 goes to ground....and connect 85 to 30

Thanks alot '92 Sedan POS'!! I really appreciate it. I am going to give those directions to my friend that put in my Compustar and see if I can't get that auto tilt to work again. I will let you know how it goes when I get it done.
Again....thank you!
