Procarparts Intake Piping Question...

Hey guys, I bought and installed the intake from procarparts, but notice that the piping is warm/hot after driving. I read somewhere that somebody's pipe is close to cool to the touch after driving. So here's the question, what kind of insulating material would you suggest to use for wrapping around the pipe (i believe it is done to some turboed cars). Is it just some cloth or a special kind that is treated? I think this would help performance considering the old saying, every drop in 10 degrees gives you an extra 1% hp or something, right? Thanks!

BTW... I found that it's cheaper at autozone than pep boys to get 1500 grit sandpaper for your headlights, but i still can't find that "scratch-x" stuff to use after the sanding. i forgot who makes it either. 3M? Mother's? Meguire's?
