yo that thing is serious man, i love the red details, and the carpc, and how does ur engine only have 30k on it, looks like it just came off the showroom
the motor was fully rebuilt block up with all OEM parts. everything new. all the mounts, cv's, waterpump, every single thing was changed out. PS... i treat this car as if it were a small child :D

Looks great! I think you and I need to meet - I'd love to see your car in person.
I'm up for a meet sometime if we get more than just a few people from springfield and stl. nobody else really that close to us except for like... tulsa and kansas city. we'll figure something out eventually.

So awsome Shaar! I really want to make this my next project.

how long did it take you to set-up? (not install in your console)
after the software and hardware build was done (in the house), it took me about 2-3 hours to wire and set up the gps and calibrate the touchscreen. pretty easy

thank you all for the positive comments. next i'm hoping for a drop and some hid's. interior is done aside from the flushmount of the touchscreen next week. also considering some s2000 sidemarkers with amber bulbs. thinking that would be a movement in the right direction.

Looks damn nice, wanna share how you did the LED interior? Mainly which LED's and resistors
hmm. the leds i used were just 3mm red 5000mcd led's. the resistors came with the 100 led's i ordered so i'm not sure exactly what they were, but from my calculations, they should be 820 ohm resistors. Remember, if you're putting the led's in a series, you will need less resistance or your leds will be dim. if you're keeping them single, the 820 ohm resistors will be perfect. The gauges i just switched out the 4 bulbs to red 194's. the gear indicator in the cluster i changed it all to red along with the turn signals and cruise control. for those you will have to take the cluster apart and remove the colored plastic in front of each indicator you want to change, trace the little square out onto a clear folder of your choice (pick your colors) and cut 3 for each indicator followed by the same size/shape piece of plain paper to flatten out the light and prevent it from looking cheap and hot spotty.

if that doesn't help out, let me know i'll try my best to give back to the community!

car looks tits man, good job...

so are you talking about the bulbs in the top of the console? you replaced them with red ones so the numbers on the guages look red?
no i actually chose not to put the bulbs in on top of the cluster. i only replaced the 4 that were behind the cluster. this way it has a more modern look to it rather than the entire face of the cluster having a glow to it only the number glow through from behind. MUUUUUUUUCH nicer :2cool:

But really, Shaar, how'd you get everyone out of the parking lot? Did you use a tripod? (must have)
it was 2 in the morning :) parking lot was nice and empty and still lit nicely. and nope didn't use a tripod. thanks for reminding me tho, i need to go grab my nice one out of storage.

Yo,
What software/hardware did you use for the GPS?
Additionally, which touch screen did you buy?
I am using Routis 2004 for software (not updateable but works great.. has all the roads i need). and as far as hardware, i'm using the Globostat BU-353 GPS reciever. The screen i chose was the Lilliput 629GL.

Do you have problems seeing the screen during the day?
Also, does it flush mount in our double din using the factory bracket?
Or, did you have to buy another bracket to mount it?

Sweet car, man.

k.
yea the screen is hard to see during the day. hopefully soon i will have a backlight upgrade so its 800-1000nits. perfectly daylight viewable. but that will probably be a while until a kit is available for me to get.

i don't know exactly how the flushmount is going to go. i don't have the bracket or bezel yet. it is currently being shipped to me. its made specifically for the screen i have. i dont know exactly how its going to fit either. i'l have to test it out and see what i have to do. i'll keep you guys up on it tho hopefully it shows up monday or tuesday for me to work on!

This is one of the sickest Legends I've seen.

Mad props, I miss mine so much every time I see people spending money on their's :)
thing is, i haven't spent too much money on mine aside from the carPC and the intake. the rest is just a lot of elbow grease and the TLC this car deserves.

next on my list is to flush the coolant. i'm a little over on the 30k maintenance and i am going to baby this thing for the rest of its life. No BHG for me! should i do the flush myself or should i pay for it to be done? i live at an apartment but have access to my parents garage/driveway.

Can't wait for the final install. I'm sure it will have a very OEM look.
Suggest you flush the system yourself... very easy! Shortcut: unplug the coolant hose next to the oil drain bolt, you can drain 100% of the system from it.
ok so i drain it through that... where do i dispose of this stuff at? and what coolant should i fill it back up with? and after i drain, plug, then refill... i drive around correct? then come back and drain it, plug, then refill again? i could have sworn i saw a diy on here somewhere.. i'm gonna go look for it.

thank you for your help! i might do this today if weather permits! would it be ok if i just drained it all, plugged it, then refilled it? or would this still pose risk of a BHG.

i can get pics up today after class of it just sitting in there. it seems that the bezel/housing i have is smaller in width in comparison to the ol' legend center console. so i'm gonna have to go buy a piece of ABS plastic to clean it up. and i still have to fit it in there correctly. i'm not quite getting the angle i want. plus its like 20F outiside... sigh... gotta go down to my parents' garage i guess..
